I heard the distant sound of beeping, along with the sound of buzzing from the fluorescent lights of the hospital. I could see the white lights, faintly through my closed eyelids. I didn't feel any different. I wonder how different I really look.

I've imagined of being the opposite sex since I was in 8th grade. I'll finally be able to play football with the other boys, and baseball. I love both sports, a lot. My father was in both, and holds the school record for the most goals in a quarter, along with the most home runs within a game.

Many people came close to meeting the record, but no one ever came close to beating it. My father was a superior athlete, he went off when I was a baby still to play football professionally. I love watching him on the television. I envy him. I truly do. Mum still refuses to answer my questions about him.

I've always imagined running across the big green field, kicking the ball to him, and him doing a cool flippy kick into the goal. I wonder if it's too late to join the football team at school.

I lied in the bed for another hour, before I started to grow anxious. I wanted to see the wonders of my new body, but I couldn't get my eyes to open, no matter how hard I wanted to wake up. Soon the door opened, and I heard footsteps approach the bed, then felt a hand on my shoulder, shaking me gently.

"Lou?" Said a voice. I didn't recognize it. Could it be a doctor, or nurse? Or did something happen during surgery, and if altered my hearing so I wasn't able to decipher people's voices anymore? "Louis, wake up." The voice says again calmly.

My eyes opened slowly. Everything was blurry, but a few blinks later everything cleared up. The voice belonged to a tall, skinny doctor. He had big glasses, and was already balding.

"Do you know where you are?" He asks, putting his index and middle finger on the inside of my elbow to check my pulse.

"Elma National Hospital. In Brighton." I mumble.

"Good, how do you feel?" He looks at the machines next.

"Tired. Who are you? Where's my mum?" I ask. My voice was slightly deeper.

"I'm Doctor Vore. Your mum and stepdad went home to get some things for you. They'll be back very soon actually. You also have two visitors. Would you like to see them?" He looks at me this time, his clipboard tucked under his arms and his hands in his enormous doctor pockets.

I nod, feeling too tired to talk anymore.

"I'll send them right in." He leaves without another word.

Moments later the door flung open, and Liam and Niall came in. Niall had a huge bouquet of flowers, with a balloon attached saying, "It's a boy!"

"Lou!" They both say, grabbing me in a hug. Both sets of arms swallowed me whole. "I missed you!" Liam says, kissing my head.

"Do you like the balloon?" Niall says, smirking.

I nod, "I do." My face started to hurt from smiling so much. "I love it. Thank you, Ni."

"Liam picked out the flowers. So, do you feel different?"

I shrug, "I haven't really gotten to look at anything. I just woke up. Do I look different?"

"A little bit. Now you really don't have boobs, your voice is deeper, and you're already growing a bit of stubble." Liam says, petting my face. "Oh, I finally beat Dark Souls. That game is really frustrating."

"I still want to play that." I mumble.

Liam nods, "Of course. Niall wants to play it too."

I nod silently.

"Li, I think he's tired." Niall says, sitting on the bed.

"Yeah. Let's leave him for a few hours. We can get dinner or something, love." Liam smiles at his boyfriend.

Niall nods, and stands. "Get some rest, Lou. We'll be back later to bother you." He winks before Liam pulled him out of the room.

I roll my head to the side lazily and see my phone sitting on the table next to me. I reached for it, then dropped my arm over the edge. I felt too tired to do anything, especially on my phone. My eyes hurt so bad.

My eyelids grew heavy and soon fell closed. Just as my eyes closed, I heard the door click open quietly. I cracked one eye open and saw the fuzzy hair that belonged to known other than Harry.

"Hi Louis." Harry says, and I can practically hear the smile on his face.

The chair next to the bed creaks as he sits.
