Chapter 1 - Village massacre

Bradley's POV
"Son it is time for you to find a mate, you are finally old enough" my father explains, I nod in response and start to walk towards the door.
"Son one more thing, we are travelling to the village to feed, you can pick your new bride there" my father finishes speaking to me and starts talking to my mother leaving me to walk back to my chambers to get ready to find my new bride.

Lindsey's POV
"Lindsey inside now, it's nearly dark" my mother shouts causing me to jump slightly.
I turned around to face my mother who was waving her hand to catch my attention.
"Come on, you know this" she shouts once more before rushing back inside, I follow quickly behind her.
I quickly locked the door and start helping my mother close all the windows and dim the lights slightly.
"Okay Petal, hurry upstairs and close the windows" she says, still rushing around the house.
I dash upstairs, closing all the windows and turning off all lights. I run downstairs noticing my father was home.
"Dad!" I squeal, giving him a warm hug.
"Edward, are they coming tonight" my mother asks with a puzzled expression on her face.
"Yes but not just to feed, according to some of the workers the prince is here to find a young woman to be his... bride" my father whispers the last word, not wanting me to hear.
"Oh dear, well hopefully we don't have any trouble" my mother sighs, I was almost certain she was concerned.
We all sat down around the table, my mother and father were speaking of something serious, I knew this because every time they didn't want me to hear something serious they would use a hushed tone. I could only make out small things but not enough to say what it was they were talking about.
*Scream*
"Help help help please" I heard a villager screaming, quickly after We heard another couple of pleads for help, soon after we could hear all the chaos outside.
"Mother!" I started to whimper feeling a pit in my stomach slowly growing.
"Don't worry Lindsey, everything will be alright" my mother explains but it wasn't helping my nerves at all. We kept hearing all the screams, suddenly they all stopped and everything fell silent, too silent.
"Wait here!" My father demanded in a whisper, my mother was holding me tight while my father slowly walked outside.
"They're gone" my father says, suddenly he is pulled by a creature of the night.
"PAPA" I scream, trying to pull out of my mother's grasp.
"Lindsey STOP" she screams, she ran for the door and locked it, she then ran back to me.
"Lindsey we can't help your father now, you need to hide in the cellar and wait it out" she explains.
"What about you, don't leave me please mummy" I say, tears gushing down my face.
"Listen I will distract them but Lindsey you must promise me, if I don't make it you won't look back you will keep running no matter what" she tells me making cry even more, I see a single tear drop from her eye to her cheek.
"Y..yes mother " I choke, she kisses my forehead and pulls me into a hug.
"I love you sweetheart" she says breaking contact.
"I love you too mummy" I respond, she pushed me into the cellar and closes the door behind me and covers the door with the carpet.
I immediately hear the front door smash open, I looked through the floorboards and watched a tall dark man walk towards my mother.
He grabbed her neck and bit her, I heard my mother scream in pain, knowing what I promised my mother I ran out the secret tunnel leading to the back of the house, I slowly opened the door and started running. I stopped dead in my tracks seeing all the dead bodies including my fathers dead body laying there, completely drained of their lives.
I dropped to my knees and buried my face in my hands, I cry out.
I feel a pair of hands touch my shoulders, I quickly jump at the feeling and move as far away as I possibly could.
"Don't fear me child, I am forbidden to kill you" the man said, he moved towards me slowly.
"Oh my, the prince has definitely chosen a suitable mate" another man said from behind me.
"I don't see why he won't let us feed on her too" one more said right next to my ear.
" cut that out boys!" A more mature figure spoke, he moved towards me and bent down.
"Hmmm you seem healthy, fairly attractive and of age, I see why he chose you" the man said making me feel uncomfortable and confused.
"Wh...who are you talking about?" I ask in a hushed tone.
"Why the prince of darkness of course,
Now come he and his parents the king and queen are most anxious to meet you" the man says starting to walk away along with the other three men.
"I'm sorry but I will not go anywhere with you" I yell, the man turns to face me once again, He walks towards me and grabs my neck, almost straggling me.
"Well if you won't come with us willingly" he says with an evil grin, he turns to look at the other boys, one of them has a rock in their hand, they hand it to him and the next thing I knew I say black.
