Chapter Two

Percy's POV

Gods, why am I attracted to this girl? She obviously hates me. My thoughts get cut off by the bell. I meet up with my cousins and best friends Thalia and Nico, and my other annoying friend Leo.

"Hey guys, what's up?"

"Uh, the sky, duh Kelp Head," Thalia, of course. Who else would say something that stupid?

"Guess what?" Oh no, Leo has a smirk on his face that says trouble.

"What?" Nico speaks for the first time in forever.

"Percy has a crush! And it's a hopeless one too," I'm so shocked that I just freeze and look at him.

"Really? Wow Kelp Face. What happened to 'I'm never getting a girlfriend after Rachel', huh?" Jeez, i hate you Thalia.

"I don't have a crush. I don't even like her. Plus, she thinks I'm a player,"

"Oooh, it really is hopeless. Who is it Perce?"

"Shut up, Nico, and do you really think I would tell you?" With that, I turn away dramatically and walk to the lunch room.

My annoying friends meet up with me and we laugh and joke around until Thalia spots someone and gasps. Before I can ask her anything, she screams,

"Annabeth!!! Come here!" What the heck? How does she know Annabeth?

"Hey Thals!" Annabeth comes to our table, grinning.

"Annie, this is Leo, and my cousins Nico and Percy," Her smile disappears as soon as she hears Thalia say Percy. So I naturally glare back.

"Wow, do you two know each other?"

"Yeah, he's in my all my classes so far. Quite annoying,"

"Oh, so you think I enjoy it?"

"Yeah, since you do nothing but stare at me and try to convince me your 'not a player,'"

"Ooh! Leo's finally right for once! So your Percy's crush!"

"Thalia, shut up! I don't even like her! I just hate it when people think I'm a player. Not like you would like it either."

But Thalia, being an idiot, doesn't stop blabbering and teasing us along with Nico and Leo for the rest of Lunch. What nice friends I got there.

Annabeth's POV

When I hear he has a crush on me, my heart literally stops beating. But to show I hate him, I just scowl at him and eat my lunch while Thals, Nico, and Leo tease him. What nice friends he got there.

My next period is gym. And just my luck, Percy is in that class too. I want to hate him, but I just can't. It's so annoying!

"Alright, today we will be doing sword fighting, would anyone care to demonstrate?"

Only Percy, me, and a guy named Sam who had a crush on me and kept asking me out, raised our hands. But I know he's a player because everyday he comes to school making out with a new girl. So, the teacher asked Sam and Percy to demonstrate. In no time, Percy beat his butt. Why do I have to like him so much? It's really annoying! So after having classes with Percy in every class, I was about to walk home when I heard,

"Hey Annabeth babe, me, you, movies, seven,"

"No, Sam, I told you I don't want to go out with you!"

"Aw, come on!"

Then, he tried to kiss me, but got thrown off by someone. Gods, it was Percy.

"Hey, um, are you okay?"

"Yeah, I'm fine. Thanks,"

"Welcome. So, why don't I walk you home?"

"No, it's fine,"

"No, no, I insist."

I knew there was no getting rid of him, so I finally agreed. When we were almost to my house, a monster attacked. It was a hellhound. I thought Percy would start cooing over a poodle, but surprisingly, he took out a pen, uncapped it, and it turned into a sword. I took out my dagger and together we started fighting. We defeated it in no time.

"You're a demigod?"

"Yeah, what's your parent? Mine's Athena," Right when I finished saying that, he got this sad look on his face and refused to look at me.

"Oh. Mine's Poseidon,"

"Oh, well, see you tomorrow."

"Yeah, see ya."

How could I like a son of Poseidon? My mom would kill me. Oh well, I don't even know if he likes me yet.
