Pain

Jack P.O.V

I awoke to a fire. A firey pain in my head. I jack-knifed to a sitting position, clutching my head and trying to stifle a scream. Hot tears were dripping down my face. A whimper escaped me. I was clenching my teeth so hard my jaw hurt. My vision danced, white to black, black to white. I thought I heard Felix talking in the living room. I tasted blood and realized I bit my lip.

The pain seemed to seep from my head downward, making my whole body ache.

Mark P.O.V

As soon as I saw those bloody words carved into the man's skin, I ran as fast as I could to the cabin. I felt bad for leaving Midnight, but that No-Pack wanted to kill Jack next.

I almost forgot to morph back into my human form before crashing through the front door, startling everyone.

"What the hell, dude!?" Felix stamered, "What the heck happened!"
I barely registered what he said as I ran towards Jack's room and threw open the door.

3rd P.O.V

As the door crashed open, revealing Mark, some of the pain in Jack ceased. However, it still hurt like all-get-out. With wide eyes, Mark tumbled to Jack's side on the bed, screaming his name.

"Jack! Jack! Can you hear me? What the hell is wrong? How can I help?!" Mark placed his hand on Jack's head, right were the pain started. For some odd reason, the pain abruptly stopped as soon as Mark placed his hand on Jack's head.

Jack gasped in relief. The torturing pain was gone and he could finally breathe correctly and wipe the tears from his face. Felix and Bob rushed into the room.

"What happened? What's wrong? Everything okay?" Bob questioned, a concerned look on his face.
"Yeah bros, you alright?" Felix added.

"I-I think so..." Jack looked away. He has never - I mean never - felt that way in his entire life, even when he broke his kneecap skating. A cold draft coiled itself down Jack's spine, making him shiver. Mark took his hand off of Jack's head.
"You sure? You seemed to be in a lot of pain, I'm surprised you didn't scream or pass out. How long did it hurt?" The concerned look on Mark's face seemed to make Jack melt.

"Um... a few minutes ago. I woke up to it." That made Mark's eyes that widen.
'Did it have anything to do with the dead man?' Mark thought, making his eyes unfocused, unnerving Jack.
"I need to go." Mark sputtered. He looked at Bob and nodded, signaling for him to stay with Jack.

Mark then got up from crouching, and ran back outside, shoving Felix in the process.
"Oi! Jackass! Get back here! Tell me what happened!" Felix ran after Mark, an angry and frustrated look on his face.

Cry walked in, shaking his head. "Felix..." he muttered, "I heard all the commotion going on in here. What was the problem?" He looked at Jack, then to Bob and back.

"Oh nothing, just our friend here burning alive." Bob shrugs and a smirk crosses his face. Jack glares at Bob, and looks up to Cry.
"Just a sudden migraine, that's all." Jack lied, blinking.

Cry narrowed his eyes - for what Jack guessed, since he can barely see Cry's eyes under his white mask - "Suuuure, " He replied. "Anyway, do you guys wanna go play The Forest with me and Ken?"

Jack nodded, climbing out of bed and smoothing his shirt down. Bob walked over to Cry and cast a look a Jack.
"Touch up your hair a bit, it looks like a bird's nest." He chuckled, guiding Cry out into the living room.
"Jackass." Jack muttered, combing a hand through his hair.

Jack jumped, hearing that oddly high pitched voice again.
"You can't hide anymore; the past is coming."

Hey dudes! I'm so sorry for this late update, I just have a lot of studying to do since exams are coming up soon.
Sorry for the inconvenience, but I'm going to go on a short hiatus for a couple weeks until exams are over. I need quite a lot of study time and I'm really stressed with having to study and focus on this book.

Don't worry though! I'll be back soon, exams end hiatus 31st, so it'll only be 2 weeks.

Good news though, after I get back from the hiatus, I'm gonna be uploading every week, most likely on Wednesday or Thursday.
