Part II

6 years later

Stephanie looked at herself in the mirror, dreaming that one day she could be a model. She always dreamt of becoming one. That, and to finally be the new proud owner of the Pie Palace.

She smiled as she twirled around in her new outfit that her grandmother has bought her. She started to strut across the room, and smiled big, lost in her fantasies.

Suddenly their was a knock at the door.

“Come in.”

Slowly the knob unwind and their stood her grandma Rosaline.

“I see you’re up snowflake.” She warmly greets.

“Yup.”

“Well, somebody looks really cute.” She says, while admiring her outfit.

“You’ve already seen me before in themmm.” Stephanie blushed from the embarrassment of someone calling her cute.

Even if it is just her grandmother.

“Well, take them off, because you have to start your homeschooling session.” She says in her strict but loving tone.

“Yes ma’m.”

“So it’s been three months, and you still haven’t decided on a birthday gift yet?” Grandma Rosaline asked her granddaughter curiously.

“Well….” She says looking down at the ground for a moment.

“Come on, there has to be something you would like.” Grandma Rosaline queried, as she finishes up doing the dishes.

“I want… dance lessons.” She closed and squinted her eyes shut, in nervousness.

“Dance lessons?” Her grandmother asked again, not sure if she heard her correctly.

“Yeaaah.” She looks down at the table.

“Well… if that’s what you want.”

Grandma Rosaline then goes into the fridge, and takes out a bowl, filled with mixed fruit.

“Really!?” Stephanie asks with pure excitement laced in her voice.

“Yeah, why not? You’ve been a good child all these years, and well, you don’t ask for much. So why not?” Grandma Rosaline then sets the bowl of fruit on the table in front of Stephanie.

“Oh grandma thank-you so much!” Stephanie rushes to embrace her in a hug.

“You’re welcome sweetheart. Of course I will have to talk it over to your father, and see what he thinks about it. So don’t get too attached, because I don’t know for sure if he would allow you to.”

“Right.” Stephanie sat back down, nibbling on a strawberry.

“I’m sure he would. Your birthday is tomorrow, so I don’t see why not.”

Grandma Rosaline leans down and kisses her granddaughter on the cheek.

“Yeah, gonna be thirteen! Finally I’ll be a teenager!” She exclaims, as she continues on eating some of the fruit.

“Yes you will. My grandbaby is getting older now.” She gives a warming smile, stopping herself from any oncoming tears from the overwhelming moment.

“Yeah, and I can’t wait, because tomorrow daddy will finally hand me over the secret family recipe to the Secret Apple pie!” Stephanie, gives a big ear to ear grin.
