The next morning (Your POV)
Once again, my mortal enemy has destroyed my sleep and caused me pain: My alarm clock. I grip the side of my head as it continues to ring while I try and cope with the huge hangover I have. Before I get a chance to turn it off, someone next to me turns it off and ends my suffering. "Thanks." Without thinking too much of it, I roll back over in my bed. "No problem." I lay there for a few seconds before I remembered something: I live alone in my room. I guess the person in the bed with me had the same thought, as the two of us shot upright at the same time and looked at each other. The mystery person got out of the bed and turned the lights on, and from across the room stood a blonde woman, wearing nothing but... the shirt I wore last night, which was thankfully too big for her. We stared at each other for a few seconds before she walked back over and slid underneath the duvet while looking at me. "I want to say this now: If anything happened between us then I'm sorry. After a few drinks, I get a little forceful and pushy." Stretching, I got out of the bed after realising that this wasn't my room and then started to find my clothes. "It's cool, I'm also to blame. I got pretty damn hammered last night too. Still, if you ever remember anything I hope it was satisfactory." As I fasten my belt I hear her giggle. "You probably don't remember who I am, do you?" I stand there for a second with a blank look on my face before shaking my head, earning a sigh in response. "I'm Valkyrie, but call me Meghan, or Meg for short if you want." I nod at her with a smile as I stand up and gesture for her to give me my shirt back, which she refuses while smiling evilly at me. I eventually give up after five minutes and begin to leave with a sigh. "Again, I'm sorry about this. Hopefully, this isn't a one-time thing." I raise an eyebrow at her while she smiles innocently at me. "What was that last part?" Valkyrie smirks and closes the door, leaving me standing out in the hallway without a shirt. Zofia walks past and looks at me for a second before walking off. "I don't even want to know. Put a shirt on before you get a call from HR. Word of warning, HR is just Caveira and a lot of threats involving her knife." Not wanting to get onto the Brazilian's bad side, I make my way back to my room to get a new shirt for the day.
10 Minutes Later
I walk into the cafeteria to see only a handful of people inside, most of which being Russian. They sure can drink a lot. I walk over to a random table and sit down and slam my head on it. I hear someone clearing their throat next to me and look up. Through my now blurry vision, I can faintly see someone smirking at me and an awful lot of green. "Hey, Ela. Could you get me a black coffee or something? It feels like my head has had a dozen cluster charges set off inside it." I put my head back on the table and hear Ela giggle next to me while she stands up. "Anything for the Pretty Princess." I hear laughs from the other operators around the room as I take my head off the table and look at Ela. "Pretty Princess? What are you talking about, you nutcase?" I hear the sound of footsteps approaching me before Thermite sits on my right, Ela on my left while Thatcher and Fuze sit across from me. "So, you really don't remember anything? Not even when you bet Tachanka that you could bench more than him?" My eyes widened while I looked at the others, who nodded their heads in confirmation. "That explains why my shoulders are in absolute agony. Thanks, Ela." I take the coffee from my Polish companion and begin to down it while everyone just smiles at me. I slam the mug on the table and let out a long sigh as memories from last night begin to flood back to my head. "Hold on. Did I ask a pineapple if it was single and cry in the corner when it didn't say anything?" Their smiles begin to grow bigger while they nod at me. "And did I say that IQ is the thicc queen? And call Mira a MILF?" They began laughing while I just sat there and pulled out my phone to text them. Fuze managed to stop laughing briefly, just to torment me. "Honestly Ghost, I didn't know about the Mira part, but that's fucking amazing!" I finish texting a quick apology to the two and begin laughing with the others sheepishly. "Probably should have mentioned that I'm a bit overconfident when I'm drunk." I hear the doors open and see more operators begin to walk inside, Mira and IQ among them. They spot me and begin walking to our table while everyone around me tries to stifle their laughter. "Monika, Elena. I just want to say how sorry I am. If you're still pissed at me then I totally get it. Buuuut I'm not necessarily taking back what drunk me said." The two look at me and sigh before walking off. They return moments later with their own food and sit down with us. Thermite tried having a drink to calm down, only to laugh while drinking and have orange juice come out of his nose. After that, none of us could keep it together. While Thermite was sat there with his head on the table, the rest of us were crying with laughter at his misfortune. After some time, we managed to reduce our full-blown laughter down to giggles and the occasional chuckle. As I sit here surrounded by my friends a thought comes to my mind. They're not just my friends anymore, they're my new family. And if anything happens to them, someone's gonna pay for it. I'm not losing anyone else. Never again.
