So we all decided that we would go to the local pub first for a few drinks. We piled into the taxi and took off.

when we pulled up, we walked straight in to 'Hennessy's'. Bas and Andy went up to order the drinks, while Jess and I got a booth. The boys came back and we sat chatting for ages,  Andy was cracking jokes left right and centre, Bas was so smart, it was hard not to hang onto every word he said while he was telling stories. Jess was wetting her pants laughing at Andy and I was doing the same thing listening to Bas.

".....So I brought the key back to the colonel and he had already opened the door!" Andy said finishing off his joke, we all started laughing. Just then a man came over and started talking to us.

"Leah?...Leah Avery?" He smiled at me. I took a long hard look at him but I didn't know where I had seen him from.

"Sorry I've had a few drinks, so forgive me but do I know you?"

He smiled at me and gave a little laugh.

"It's Elliot, Elliot Baker" Jess choked on her drink because she knew who he was, Andy's eyebrow shot up and I was a little shocked.

"Oh my god, Elliot I'm so sorry, how are you?" I said, meanwhile Bas was watching the exchange.

"I'm really good, can I buy you a drink and we can catch up?"

"I'd love to, go order me a drink and I'll be over in a second" I said then turned back to the guys when Elliot walked off.

"So who is he?" Andy said while taking a sip of his drink.

"He was my date to prom remember, look ill just go talk to him for twenty minutes and then I'll be back" they all nodded and carried on talking and laughing while I got up. I bet Andy wouldn't be so pleased to know that Elliot was my first, we were an hour late to the dance, during prom, because we drove to a lay by and had sex.

I walked across the pub to the bar, Elliot was paying for the drinks.

"Hey im sorry I just didn't recognize you earlier"

"No no its ok, its funny to see you're still a lightweight" he laughed

"hahaha so tell me what you've been up to" I asked

"well I moved to Australia for four years, I was trying to get my business started up but I realized that I preferred living over here, so I moved back and now I'm setting up a second business a few towns over"

" wow that amazing, what is your business?"

"Architecture, I run Baker Designs, which in about three months will be a franchise please god. what about you?"

"well i'm an editor for  'Stem' magazine"

"crap thats huge, that is a big company, what a great gig" He said.

Suddenly Andy came over and introduced himself after shaking Elliots hand, they started chatting for a while and I just sort of stood there and listened.

I looked Elliot over, he was a handsome man, tall, blonde and if I remember correctly he was pretty well hung down. When we were younger he was a great boyfriend, he was always so attentive to my needs, he never pushed me into doing anything I didn't want to and he made me laugh. He is going to make some woman very happy some day, it could of been me but I just didn't feel that spark with him. Our break up was a mutual decision. I think we both knew we would be better at friends than anything else, plus we were really young to keep going, once we moved off to different colleges we just became friends....and we were both ok with that. It would of been nice to have met the love of my life so young but I have no regrets.
