"Just imagine that I'm there too."

Ms Indrilla's advice rang in my head. I was backstage in the Academy Nightclub - in Los Angeles. Mr Evans came earlier to wish me luck. He went with my aunt into the crowd that had gathered tonight to find some seats. "They all fill up really quickly" he had said jokingly to us both at the entrance.

I wore a golden, sparkly 1-shoulder dress which had 2 silver jewelled hearts on it and a sparkly silver ribbon. I also wore matching golden high heels bejewelled with silver gems, a golden locket, 1 golden and 1 silver bangle on each wrist, silver-studded earrings, and a silver tiara. This was all bought by Ms Indrilla. My hair was tied into a bun with a few small ringlets by her stylist. I looked like a princess!

Ms Indrilla, I won't let you down.

I was called to take my place below the stage. I heard the music, of my song, start to play above me. Slowly the ground moved upwards and I was lifted onto the stage. The white smoky effect cleared to reveal me. I could see the audience stretch out metres in front of me and I was completely shaken.

I could see my aunt and Mr Evans. Behind them I imagined my mentor smiling to encourage me to sing... for her...

The lights sparkled in radiant colours and I began to sing my song...

The crowd went wild as I finished. They loved it! They really loved it! I was ecstatic! My aunt waved from the audience and Mr Evans gave me a big grin and a thumbs-up. I couldn't believe how well everything turned out. I know in my heart that Ms Indrilla would be extremely proud of me.

I visited her the next day. When she opened her door and saw me, she swung me around with a tight squeeze. She invited us into her living room and said "I am so proud of you Hazel Jenner! Not only have you achieved your boosted confidence, but take a look at the charts!" She opened her laptop and showed me what she meant. "Dreams - by Hazel Jenner" was the no.1 hit of the week! No way!

"You have truly become the next generation's no.1 pop star. I hope you continue this way. Of course, it's up to you. You can return home now and live a normal life until your career age. Or you can stay here with me and enhance your career now. You may have some time to decide before telling me what you really want."

But I already knew what I wanted... I wanted a better life and I knew where I could get it, even if it meant I would leave my family and my friends behind. My parents hardly ever supported my dreams, and I could always invite my friends and sis over to visit or visit them in England myself.
Also, Ms Indrilla and I have become very close; it would be wrong and upsetting for both of us to part.

"I want to stay to continue my career!" I replied with a smile.
