This oneshot is a request from FennaB11-

"Could you maybe make a one-shot, with a reader who's very dreamy. And the reader has ADD and because of that she always zones out and is kind of a mystery girl?"

Yep! I sure can do that! :)

[Cameo from me, going by the name of 'Andi'  :) <3 ]

You were jolted back to reality by your friend who was waving a hand in front of your face again for like the third time in an hour. Andi had been pretty much your only friend for your entire 3 years with the Resistance, and had become more like a sister than anything else.

"Sorry." You said, knowing that you had zoned out again. Andi had been talking about all of the recent missions and had made some analogy about there being more missions lately than there were stars, but your hopelessly distractible brain had zoned out on a tangent about the actuall numbers involved with that statement.

Thankfully Andi was used to your Attention Deficit Disorder by now and just waited for you to say where you had gotten lost before laughing, "That was a while ago. I think you broke your record!" and then continued, animatedly with her story, backtracking to where you had gotten lost.

Andi was really the only person who took the time to understand why you were never paying attention. Most people just assumed you ignored them on purpose and would walk away in a huff. She never babied you though. It was nice that she realized you had a disorder, and treated you with respect regardless, but she didn't treat you like you had a disorder, you know?

She waved her hand in front of your face again. And you smiled, "Sorry, this time I was thinking about how good of a friend you are. Keep going." Andi laughed and shook her head.

"No, I need to get back to my station. Droids don't repair themselves." She threw her hands up in mock annoyance, "Oh wait! They do! Why am I here?" she grinned and waved, leaving you at your own repair station.

You shook your head glancing down at the ship parts you were working on. It really was a wonder you ever accomplished anything. With all the zoning out you did you were surprised they hadn't just put you in sanitation and left you there. You were grateful though, sanitation was not a fun department to be stuck in.

You picked up a file to smooth down some rough edges on a particularly sharp piece of piping that belonged to a rundown transport that you were helping to revive and began to reshape the edge so that it fit with the peice it was supposed to connect to.

And you brain left you again.

How long had that ship been running? I wonder if it had been operating as far back as the Rebellion? It is definitely an old enough model. Old ships are always the best. Older things usually are. Except older people. I'm never gonna get old. I will die young and quick before I become like my mother. She sure was a grumpy old hag. Always harping at me for nothing. Like chores. I could never do my chores good enough for her. But chores were always so boring and lame. I liked running around outside way better. O remember that stream behind the house that I used to-

"OWW! DAMN IT!" You stopped focusing while your head had been elsewear, and the file slipped, cutting open a deep gash in your palm. It started to bleed immediately, and was pooling on the top of your work table.

You just looked at it for a second, the pain taking a moment to sink in and then you hissed. "Damn, damn, damn..." you gripped, trying to grab a rag to stem the flow of blood but not finding a clean one. Then you heard a voice from the door behind you.

"Did someone call me?" a man asked genuinely.

You turned your head at the sound and locked eyes with the man in question. It was Commander Dameron. You recognized him.

Why you ask? well, for one he was a commander, and in the still small Resistance, being a Commander meant you were pretty high ranking and everybody knew you. Secondly, he was hot. All the women on base knew who he was just for that reason alone. Some men too. Thirdly, he was really nice to everyone. He didn't care what your rank was, or what your job was, he would be nice to anyone and everyone. Lastly, and out of these four points definitely the least important, he was the best pilot the Resistance had to offer.

Ya, you definitely recognized him. Though you had never actually met him before, you decided resolutely that you would absolutely not make a complete fool of yourself.

"Commander Dameron! No, sorry, I just... um... the file slipped and... I, uh... I'm trying to find a rag for..." About that whole 'not making a fool of yourself' thing... ya, it just flew out of the hanger in Black One, and was headed for space at top speed.

The Commander walked towards you while you were talking, his eyes widening when he caught sight of the blood on your hand and on your table.

"Your bleeding!" he cried, closing the gap between the two of you and grabbing your hand, pulling a rag out of his back pocket, moving to place it on the gash, and then stopping, "Uh sorry, this is covered in engine oil. Do you-" he was gonna ask if you had a clean rag and then after scanning the room he changed his mind. "Nevermind," he smirked playfully, "You should probably just head down to the Med Bay." He placed a hand on your elbow, still holding your hand, and began to lead you towards the Med Bay before you could say anything.

"Uh, okay then." you said a little surprised that he was taking you there. You spoke up a little nervously, "I can go by myself Sir. You don't have to help me."

Commander Dameron burst into laughter. After a moment he calmed down enough to talk, his face still beaming from his outburst. "Please don't call me that. No one does. It makes me feel weird. Just Poe is fine." He grinned down at you, though you were only a few inches shorter, and continued, "And plus, I need to wash my hands anyways. Their all covered in your blood now."

"Oh gosh! I'm so sorry!" you apologized, a little mortified. This was just awkward for you. You have one friend, and talking to people wasn't normal for you. Because of your ADD, you had a tendency to believe that people would reject you, so you tried to avoid people most days. You really wouldn't mind it if Commander Dameron, Poe, liked you, you just didn't think he would.

He laughed again, shaking his head at your words, "No, It really fine. This is totally not the first time I've been covered in someone's blood..." He chuckled nervously, and glanced sideways at you, "That sounded better in my head than it did out loud."

You raised your eyebrows, a little amused at his choice of words. "Ya, probably not the best thing to say to the person whose blood you are wearing." You smirked up at Poe, your eyes meeting his and then you had to look away to avoid blushing. That would have been embarrassing!

And then Poe just had to make you blush by saying, "Don't you wish that's all I was wearing?" His face was completely controlled except for the corner of his mouth which seemed to be having trouble keeping still.

Yep, you totally blushed. You stared at the ceiling, trying desperately to NOT imagine Poe without clothes on. No, its. Commander. Dameron. you corrected in your mind, attempting to make the conversation in your head less personal. But using his military title, didn't help at all. If anything, it made it much worse.

The whole 'not making a complete fool of yourself' thing, was most definitely flying for space at top speed.
