Rani karnavati also known as Rani karmavati was a princess and temporary ruler from Bundi , India.
She served as regent during the minority of her son, from 1527-1533.
After Bubur had captured the throne of delhi,Rana Sangram Singh of mewar lead a confederation of Rajput Kings against Babur to capture throne of delhi .
In the battle of Khanua ,Rana Sanga died shortly afterwards from his wounds.
Rani karmavati took up the regency in the name of her elder son Vikramaditya,a weak ruler.mewar was attacked second time by bahadur shah of gujrat at whose hands Vikramaditya had received a defeat.
The antagonist nobles were not ready to fight for Vikramaditya. Rani karmavati wrote to the nobles to come forward for the sake of sisodias and was able to persuade them to fight for mewar not for his son.
Their sole condition was that the two sons should go to Bundi during the war for their personal safety.
Rani karmavati call for help from Mughal emperor Humayun .
Later on bahadur shah entered chittorgarh and randacked it for the second time and karmavati and others nobles ladies realising that defeat was imminent and they immolated themselves in a mass suicide by fire known as jauhar.
