So today I am going to tell you about an Indian king from chahamana dynasty.
Born : c 1166 CE
Reign : c 1178-1192CE
Died : 1192 CE

* Prithviraja lll also known as Prithviraj Chauhan or Rai Pithora in the folk legends ,was an Indian king from the chahamana dynasty.
* His capital was located at Ajayameru or ajmer , although the medival folk legends him as as the king of Indian political centre Delhi to portray him as a representative of the pre Islamic Indian power.
*He succeeded to the throne of ajmer at the age of 13 , in 1179 , when his father died in a battle.
* He defeated the mighty Bheemdev ruler of Gujrat at the mere age of 13.
* His love story with his enemy , jaichand daughter,Samyukta is very famous . He rode off with her on the day of her ' Swamyamwara'.
* He expanded his empire , during this time Mahmud Ghori attacked India in 1191 and he was defeated at the first battle of Tarain.
However 1192 , the Ghurid dynasty decisively defeated prithviraj at the second battle of Tarain .
* It is claims that he was taken to Ghazna as a prisoner and blinded.
After hearing this Chand bardai  travelled to Ghazna and tricked Muhammad of Ghor into watching an archery performance by the blind Prithviraj. During the performance he shot the  arrow in the direction of Ghori voice and killed him . After Prithviraj and chandbardai killed each other .  This is a fictional narrative story regarding him.
Prithviraj Chauhan died in 1192 nothing had been found how he died . But in the history of India he is portrait as a flawless hero and emphasize message of Hindu national unity.
