Tenali Ramakrishna

Tenali Ramakrishna who was known as Vikatakavi, was a telugu poet who hailed from what is now the Andhra pradesh region, generally known for his wit and humour.
He was one of the Ashtadiggajas or eight poets at the court of Krishnadevaraya .
Early Life
He was born in a telugu Niyoki Brahmin family. His father was a priest in the Ramalingeshwar swami temple . When his father died his mother returned to her native place where he grew in his uncle town .
He didn't receive any formal education during his childhood, but became a great scholar, due to his thirst knowledge. There is no specific info regarding his wife or son .
It is says that he did a performance in front of the king and other people . He shared his life story with Krishnadevaraya ,who granted him the post of the comic poet in the court and he was also known as special advisor in the court of Sri Krishnadevaraya.
It is said that he died due to a snake bite.
