The hallway was it's usual orange hue during the "golden hour." I was slowly walking down, just trying to appreciate the architecture for a change. I wanted to really get to know the building I lived in. Sure, I know nothing about building structure but I know enough to know it's special. I stared out of the window and gazed into the horizon. It can be so peaceful sometimes. I only wish I could share this moment with Katana like I used to. I'm surprised that she's been holding out on me for this long. I'm kind of hurt. I didn't know that losing a friend could feel so awful. She was my only friend, so maybe that's why. Why am I so antisocial? Oh well, what can I do? I was never taught proper communication skil-
"It's beautiful isn't it?" asked a stranger from behind me.
"Yeah, it really is," I turned around to face a middle aged woman. She had long brown hair with a few greys around the side of her head and was wearing a brown pencil skirt with a white button down tucked in. She was beautiful, honestly.
"So how do you like it here?" she asked me.
"I mean it's okay. I'm just thankful to have what I have."
"Which is?" She seemed particularly interested in what I was grateful for.
"Well, I have a roof over my head, food to eat. Even though I don't have many friends, I'm just thankful that I'm being care for here."
"That's nice. So what's your name?" I guess she would want to know who she wants as talking to.
"Phoenix Serinus. And you are?" I'd like to know too.
"You can call me Ms. Diane."
"Okay, hello Ms. Diane."
"You're name is pretty unique. Where's it from?" She asked me.
"I'm not really sure but it kinda reminds me of a bird." I replied. I began to ponder about the subject myself.
"Well Phoenix, it was nice to meet you. I have a meeting to go to now but I hope I'll see you soon."
"Okay. I'll see you soon." I replied. The moment she left was when I realized, this was THE Ms. Diane. The one that all the kids talk about. Everyone makes so many rumors about her I thought she'd be scarier. Ms. Diane has to be one of the nicest adults I've ever met. I wonder why everyone makes her out to be an enormous bad person. Maybe the answer is, they've never met her. I can't wait to tell Katana! Oh wait, she's mad at me... Ugh! I don't care anymore I'm tired of being ignored.
And with that I stormed off to Katana's room.
