Escaping from his grip

Chapter 9

A few weeks went by like this, training and exploring the island with Lily. She showed me a lot of cool spots like: Cannibal cove, Crocodile creek, Skull rock and Mermaid lagoon where we found a huge cave with a tight entrance and a "pool" inside. On the days Lily was too busy I'd take long walks through the fields and woods that surrounded the Indian camp, I wasn't allowed to leave Indian grounds without Lily.

It's one of those days again where the chief needs Lily to take care of some stuff so I grab my bow and go out for a walk. I was just casually walking through the forest when I suddenly hear footsteps and voices. I squat down and focus my hearing on one of the voices. 'She's our only chance if we ever want to leave this island alive' it's Chris, hm let's have a little fun. I smirk and look through the bushes until I see Chris and his boys. Then I raise my bow and aim at a tree a little bit in front of them. Once they got close I release the arrow and it lands right in front of Chris' face. Chris quickly backs up and looks right at me, when he realises who shot the arrow his face turns angry. 'Don't just stand there GET HER!' he yells and the boys start to chase after me. Unlike a few weeks ago I now know the forest and how to use it to my advantage. I look behind me and see that the boys struggling to keep up now this is fun I thought laughing. Then suddenly I slam into something, or rather someone. The person I ran into catches me in their right arm but we fall down anyways. Before I realise what was happening I'm on the ground with the person hanging over me.

I open my eyes and meet with two emerald green eyes. I remember those Pan is leaning above me supporting himself on his elbows. He's breathing a little heavy, he probably didn't see me coming. He looks at me confused and was about to say something when we heard Chris' boys coming closer. Pan sits on his knees and I lean on my elbows, he looks back at me and puts a finger to his mouth signalling me to be quiet. I nod and receive a smirk back from him. He slowly moves from his position to sit next to me and offers me a hand. Lily had told me about all the horrible things Pan has done and how evil he is. But for some reason I trusted him, I knew I was none of his business. I take his hand and suddenly my vision turns bright and my skin appears to be glowing. I look down at our hands confused and then at Pan. 'We're invisible' He whispers softly and looks at the boys passing us in amusement. It's a funny sight seeing the boys looking around in complete confusion. Once the boys are gone Pan helps me up, lets my hand go and my vision turns back to normal again. It kind of reminded me of my own powers, because when I focus my vision it turns a little more saturated. 'How come they were chasing you again?' Pan asks 'thought you'd have learned how to avoid them by now'. 'I have, I was just having some fun' I respond confidently. 'I do admit it was pretty funny' He laughs 'Indeed, they looked so lost' I say looking in the direction the boys had gone. 'We're all a little lost sometimes, love' Pan speaks, but when I look back to reply he's gone. Love? Did he just call me love?

I decide to go the cliff at hangman's tree and sit down in the grass close to the edge. I close my eyes and listen to my surroundings. It's peaceful, the waves crashing against the rocks below, the wind blowing through my hair, the birds and other animals from the forest. I absolutely love it here, it reminded me of my old life. Not the one before Neverland, but before the modern world. I don't remember a lot, but I know that I lived on a farm with my parents and next to us lived a boy who I was really close friends with. I walk over to the piano, a few days ago I took all day to fix it and now it sounds perfect. I play a few random keys to test it and then started playing a song.
