Diary Of A Wimpy Kid: Sleepover Disaster

Thursday 14th May

Today is the day of the " surprise" I just hope it's good. I finally told Rowley about the surprise and he said it sounds with real popular girls and asked to come to whatever the surprise is. I didn't want to upset my pal, so I said yes. But, if he spoils it then I blaim him.

I sneaked my journal into class. It wasn't a test ( thank goodness) but we were doing year 9 Effective Maths. My partner was Jonh Smith and he was partner 1, I was partner 2. The question on the board was " Partner 1, why wasn't Sammy able to get his 400 cubes?" I had no idea what that meant, so I just moved my legs and ignored what Jonh Smith was saying.

After that, it was partner 2 turn. The question this time was " Partner 2, why wasn't Sammy able to get his 1,000 cubes?" I had no idea what that meant either, so I watched Jonh Smith staring at me like i'm a werido, waiting for his explaination.

When our chat was over, Miss Dickison opened her mouth, and said:

Miss Dickison: " Okay class, you all should know a answer now so let's see our answers!"

Miss Dickison: " Gregory?"

I quickly stop daydreaming and reply saying:

Me: Yes?"

Miss Dickison: " May you give your answer?"

Me: " Um...40....40.....42?"

I hear kids burst with laughter and a smile even from Miss Dickison.

Miss Dickison: " Class hush. Greg, the question is MORE than 42. It's 1,000. Can you tell your answer?"

Luckily, I do some quick math and say my answer.

Me: " Oh, sorry miss, I ment 1,059."

I hear more laughter from the kids.

Miss Dickison: " Ok we heard enough nonsense from you. Can anybody else help Greg?"

After class, when I went history, I got a surprise from somebody who walked up to me. It was-
