Chapter 2- Sleep

"Doc, ilang patients pa po ang kaya niyo ihandle?" - magalang na tanong ng secretary kong si Thomas habang maaliwalas na nakangiti at nakasilip sa pinto.

"Hmmmn, I need to leave early now, but I would still take my last patient for today. Thank you for assisting me as always Thomas." I smiled at my loyal secretary for about 2 years already. He started during his OJT days but I grew fond of him because of his charming aura and he is hardworking and patient. He is lean but muscular, tall,white and intelligent.

As a psychiatrist, Thomas is the one that perfectly suits the job as he is already trained on how to handle my patients with mental disorders and is also very caring, gentleman even.

"Uhm... pero doc, are you sure you would like to take your last patient? I find him mysterious though." - He now fidgets as he seemed to be troubled and a flash of worry can be seen in his eyes but he tried hard to supress it.

Thomas is still a kid though, and so I chuckled at that thought.

"What do you mean by that?" - I asked trying to supress my curiosity as it is the first time that I saw my secretary troubled.

I mean, yes I meet a lot of people on a daily basis with difficulty sometimes because they are not stable but with Thomas, every session is fine. If they threw tantrums, He prepares for a tranquilizer and the rest is history.

There are few patients already who threatened to kill me and some even tries to rape me so he is really that protective of me. He is like my brother that I never had.

"Doc kasi, his medical records is blank. Only his name and age is indicated and the rest is restricted. Ni walang background ng past diagnosis sakanya. I even wonder why the hospital accepted him." - inilapag niya ang white folder sa harap ko na nakakapagtakang walang logo ng ospital or anything na makakapagpatunay na galing nga ito sa records.

The patient is named Cai only. Thats it? Aged 24. Then all of the supporting details is writted as CLASSIFIED in Bold and capital letters.

Now this is interesting...

I looked up and handed him back the folder as I stood up from my seat and for the first time, I was the one who called my special patient that is so secretive that I smell danger.

But I was greeted by a line of men in black wearing tuxedo standing strong infront of the clinic. There are 5 of them and there also others who seems to be patroling around the area checking if their perimeter is safe.

Damn, this patient must be really that special and powerful to be guarded like this and have special access in this hospital. I was suddenly nudged by Thomas.

"Doc, I think I better go with you sa clinic. Delikado, baka mapahamak ka nanaman." -This time hindi na nagawang itago ng binata ang pag-aalala sa mata at sa boses nito. And I didn't bother to argue with him because I know deep down na tama siya.

I nodded and started to walk towards the patient that sits on the chair, his back facing me. He is wearing a black coat and has broad shoulders. The aura he has is strong and I can feel the heaviness in the air.

But before I could even call him, one of his men stopped me and held my shoulder.

"Stop. What are you planning to do?"

I was startled but was fast enough to make a remark. "I am Dr. Nathalie Shace Imperial and I will just call my patient named Cai, which apparently just sitting a few inches away from me." - I tried to kept my cool but I think I failed because of the sarcasm that escaped my mouth.

The man looked at me sternly before stepping away gesturing me to do as I please. But no. I will not come any further anymore.

"Cai." - I called the man but it gave me shivers just by hearing his name that came from me. It made me feel something I can't name.
