June 30, 2005

*Emily's POV*

I wake up and follow my morning routine while Matt is still asleep. So, I shower, get dressed, do my hair and makeup, and usually I go to work... But I took a personal day today because it's Addi's 5th birthday!!! I can't believe this year she will start school! They grow up to fast... I suppose I should go wake Addi up. I walk across the hall and into her bedroom but Addi's still sound asleep. Well, it is her birthday I suppose I can let her sleep in today. I decide to go make her favorite breakfast and then I will wake her up. After a while of cooking I have one Micky Mouse pancake decorated with strawberries, M&Ms, and whipped cream. On the side I poured her a glass of chocolate milk, made her 2 pieces of bacon, one egg over easy, and one piece of toast. For the finishing touch I put a little birthday card on the side and carry the tray up to Addi's room.

"Addi sweety, it's time to wake up." I say sweetly. "I made you breakfast in bed for your birthday." After I say that I made her breakfast she sits right up. I set the tray on her lap.

"My favorite!" She sequels.

"Yup, do you remember what makes today special?" I say but I already know that she knows the answer.

"It's my birthday! DUH!" She screams in excitement.

"You know what else today is?" I say doubting that she will know anyway.

"Ummm..." She trails off. "Eat a Mickey Mouse pancake day?!?" She asks in excitement.

"Nooo... But Coral is coming over for a week."

"Oooooh! I can't wait to see her again it's been forever!!!!"

*Doorbell goes off*

"Ding Dong!" I laugh because literally every time the doorbell rings Addi says 'Ding Dong' and it's quite hilarious.

"Come with me to see who it is!" Addi instantly gets up and beats me to the door with it already open.

"There's the birthday girl!" Addi jumps into her arms.

"AUNT CORAL!!!!!!" Addi had an instant connection with Coral and Addi considered her family so we taught Addi to call her Aunt Coral. "You came!!!"

"Of course I came I wouldn't miss my little princess' birthday for the world!"

"You're skinny again!!!" I fail to hold back laughter because the last time Addi saw Coral she was pregnant, but Addi just thought she was 'fat'.

"Sorry she still doesn't quite understand that you were pregnant." I say still realizing the comment was kind of rude.

"No that's ok she is only five years old. But Addi I have a surprise for you." Addi perks up, her eyes wide and almost shimmering.

"Ooooh, a birthday present?!?" She looks around trying to find the present.

"She's in the car sweetpea." She says sweetly, but doesn't even finish the sentence and Addi is out the door.

Coral rushes over to the car as well with me right behind her.
