Jacob's POV-
The familiar buzzing of my alarm startled me awake, I reached over to my phone and turned off my alarm. Once my alarm was turned off I sat up yawning then tried to get out of bed to get ready for the new internship I recently got. I didn't want to be late for my first day there since I want to make a good first impression with my bosses. My internship is with a group called Sky Media, and the person I intern for is named Emily.
I walk into the kitchen and grab some cereal to have for a quick breakfast before I leave. I grabbed some of the items to make coffee and started up a brew for myself and then making some tea for my roommate Ryan. Ryan and I met quite some time ago when I was looking for someone to rent out the other room in the apartment. He messaged me one day and said he would take the room, but he lived all the way in the UK so it took him a while before he arrived and settled into our apartment. Once I finished the breakfast I made for myself I rinsed the dishes I used and put them into the dishwasher before heading out for the internship.
Ryan's POV-
My alarm goes off kind of suddenly, startling me awake. I sit up quickly, spinning my clock off of the bedside table and watching it bounce on the floor, still going.
"Here we go again."
I shrug off the duvet, the warmth instantly being wrenched away from me as the room temperature rolls over my semi-naked body. Picking up the clock I shut it off, placing it back in its place. Reluctantly I stand up, my feet welcomed by the soft, bare-thread carpet as a yawn forces its way out of me.
Stretching my weary muscles I head for my door, opening it to allow even more cold air into my room. Albeit, the apartment isn't cold but I just woke up and I grouchy and overdramatic.
"Jacob?" I call out. The word echoes around the various different rooms with open doors before the place falls silent. Jacob, my roommate of about two years now, must be at work.
Approaching my wardrobe, I turn to pick up and check my phone to see that it is nearly 10am. I'm going to be cutting it close for work to be honest. Quickly I grab some clothes; a black t-shirt displaying a crude firefly print with the words "look for the light" on it, some blue trousers that look like jeans but aren't actually jeans. Rushing into the bathroom I brush my teeth and quickly hop into the shower.
About 20 minutes later I grab a slice of bread before heading out of the door to work. The hallway outside the apartment is dimly lit but the windows at each end provide enough light for me to be able to sprint down the stairs and outside. The sun bursts into my eyes and I've never been more thankful to have reacting glasses. Go dark my children.
"I'm on my way, I've got yesterday's photographs." I say upon answering my ringing phone.
"You better have. Carlos is expecting them today!" My boss screeches down the phone.
"Don't worry I'm just down the road." I lie. After an exasperated breath my phone beeps off and I make a run for the bus. American busses aren't that different to London busses however I don't really deal with change all too well to be honest. Now I hope I won't be late.
Jacob's POV-
This internship is going very smoothly, everyone here has been super kind to me and Emily has been showing me every step, in detail, of how she gets her stuff done around the offices. I don't do all the important stuff since Emily is the only one trusted with it, I just help rearrange the schedules and get coffee for the others.
"Hey Jacob, lets take our lunches right now so we can plan a little more for the schedules." Emily suggested.
"Yeah sure thing. Should I get this schedule back to Adam first?" I replied.
