Chapter 10

Leo's POV

I leave Cabin 10 when the girls start getting annoyed with me.

"I'll talk to you later" I say to Dani

She smiles widely, considering her dad was just murdered," Okay"

Her eyes flicker from brown to green

I smile, and walk to breakfast.

"Hey, lover boy," Percy laughs

"You can't talk," I say seriously," What have you and Annabeth been doing?"

That shuts him up

5 minutes later

"So you uhh heading to breakfast?" Percy asks

"Yeah"

"You hear that scream this morning?" he asks

"It was Dani," I say softly

"Is she okay?" he asks

"She's fine, she had a dream. She saw her dad being killed." I say

"I know how she feels" Percy says with a sad look in his eye

Dani's POV

"Come on, it's time for breakfast" Piper says

"Can I go in my pajamas?" I whine

"No you can't." Piper says motherly

I get out of bed, and change into a black skater skirt, and my camp shirt.

Piper walks me to the pavilion.

"I'm gonna say thanks to Leo," I say

I walk to the Hepeasthus table

"Don't worry, Nyssa, I won't be here long." I mock

She rolls her eyes.

"Thanks, Leo" I say, and hold his hand softly

"No problem." He says," Are you okay?"

"Yeah, I'll be fine" I say blinking back tears.

"I'll help you train for Capture the Flag tomorrow" he smiles

I nod, and walk back to my table.

I put waffles and fruit onto my plate.

I toss one waffle into the fire for mom.

Gods are weird, why do they like the smell of our food?

"It appears as food in their shrines" the boy names Percy says.

"Oh, don't they have their own food?" I ask

"Well yeah....." he shrugs

"I'll never understand gods." I shake my head

"Hey, I was gonna be a god" Percy says proudly

"No way"

"Yeah, but I stayed half-blood, because I couldn't leave Annabeth." Percy smiles lovingly

"That's so sweet." I say," I wonder how it feels to be in love like that"

"You're a daughter of Aphrodite, you'll find it"

"But I only make people feel like that" I argue," I want to feel like that"

"I don't know, Dani" Percy looks at me, and he scraps blue pancakes into the fire.

I bow my head, and pray to Mom

"Mom, please, I want to know who loves me. You know who I love, but I want to know who loves me. I guess this is sad, a daughter of Aphrodite, begging to know who loves her. When she can just make people love her. Mom I don't want to make someone love me" I pray, even though I feel like she doesn't understand.

I sit back at my table, and eat slowly. No one really talks to me. I tap my shoe against the floor noisily

"Can you quit it?" Brandon, one of my brothers snaps

"Sorry, ADHD, it's a habit" I say quietly

Piper turns and looks at me," Your makeup is fading, and your hair is changing back."

"Thank the gods!" I exclaim

I couldn't stand being a cake face, it made me seem like a Barbie.

After breakfast, I walk back to my cabin, and take a nap. I need to train soon.
