Leo's POV
I wake up at 7:30 and walk to Cabin 10
I knock quietly, and Dani opens the door.
She's dressed in black jeans, and a black top, with her cross body bag/bow and arrow.
"I'll get my backpack" she says
She runs inside, and I'm left outside in the crisp New York air.
Selena walks towards me, and we stand in silence
Dani bursts out the door smiling," Let's go!"
"You look very happy considering we're going on a suicide mission" Selena scoffs
"We're not going to die" Dani argues
"Hopefully" I mumble
We walk to the Big House.
Rachel is sleeping on the couch
"RACHEL!" I yell
She yawns," Good morning, Chiron told me give you this"
She hands each of us a bag of money and drachmas
Dani looks excited, but I can tell she's scared.
Selena looks laid back, as if this happens everyday.
We walk down the hill, and get in the camp van.
"Where should we go?" Selena asks
"Well the manticore was at my house last so we should go there" Dani suggests
"That's a good idea" Selena says
"It's in Pittsburgh, so we should get comfortable" Dani smiles softly
----------6 hours----------
Dani lays on my chest, snoring softly.
Selena stares at Dani, and we both laugh quietly.
I sit back, and look out to window.
The car comes to a stop, "We're here" I announce.
Dani wakes up abruptly.
"My house!" she exclaims, and gets out the car.
"Thanks, Argus" I say
He nods and smiles slightly.
Dani twists the doorknob," This dude breaks into my house, kills my dad, and has the nerve to lock the door!" She says angrily
She pulls a bobby pin out of her hair, and jams it into the doorknob
"Open" she says and walks inside
A few seconds later, I hear a scream
I run inside, and I see Dani pale and sweaty staring down at a body
Selena looks shocked and scared, her cool facade gone.
"Who who is this?" she stutters
"It's my dad" Dani answers.
"No wonder the manticore locked the door, so no one would find out"
"Should we call the police?" Dani asks
"No" I answer," How would we explain this?"
"Well I can charmspeak"
"I agree with Leo, it's too risky" Selena says
"You guys hungry?" Dani asks her voice shaky
"I guess" I say
Dani walks to the cabinet, and grabs Oreos.
She tosses them to me, and I eat a handful
"Where would this Pithos be found?" Selena asks
"Maybe a museum" I add
"Or this house, my dad had one of those ancient jars from one of his clients" Dani says excitedly
"What did your dad do?" I ask
"Marriage consultant" she answers," The jar was in a glass case in his bedroom."
I follow Dani upstairs.
We follow her into a huge room with a king sized bed, green walls, and a white carpet.
"There it is," Dani points to a shattered glass container on the wall.
"That must've been where the Pithos was" Selena says
"It's gone" I say
"Where could it have gone?" Dani asks rubbing her temples
"Isn't Hestia supposed to have the Pithos anyway?" Selena asks
"Yes, Percy told me that." I add
Selena goes into a trance, " Texas, she's in Texas"
"Who's in Texas?" Dani asks
"I don't know" Selena says out of breath
"Next stop:Texas" I say half -heartedly
