I furrowed my brow in concentration as I swung the hammer down repeatedly on the piece of white hot metal, I was crafting yet another dagger for yet another ranger. The heat from the forge was making me sweat and I stopped to wipe the back of my hand across my forehead. Yeah, good Idea not to get heat stroke in 100 degree weather with the sun glaring down on the desert. I heard footsetps and looked up. My heart nearly stopped. It was The Outlaw no-one knew his real name but he earned the title of just 'The Outlaw' from the outlaw tattoo across his abdomen.
"What do you need?" I asked setting down the hammer and the tongs so I could wipe my hands on a towel.
"I heard you're the best blacksmith in the west." He said gruffly looking at me from under the brim of his hat.
"And?" I asked in slight annoyance.
"I need you to make me a dagger." He said leaning against the wide doorframe.
"So do twenty other people by the end of the month." I sighed picking up the list of clients.
"And twelve others need pistols, and another twenty two need rifles." I finished fliping to the next page.
"I'll find someone else then." He said. And with that he walked away boots clicking on the hot ground.
~Two Hours Later~
It was noon, and a young ranger had come into town. He was told to bring The Outlaw back alive or maybe dead. So they were standing in the street forty paces away. The Outlaw's eyes were shaded by the brim of his hat and a smirk played at the edges of his perfect lips. The young ranger was shifting nervously as they stared eachother down. In a flash there was a shot and I looked expectantly at the ranger. He stood with his arm outstretched looking triumphant. In shock I looked back at The Outlaw. Just in time to see him fall to the ground. I ran out of my shop as people flooded to the street cheering. I crouched down next to The Outlaw as he shifted.
"Ow, Fuck." He grumbled proping himself up on his elbow and pressing his hand to a gunshot wound just south of his heart.
"He needs to work on his aim the little shit." The Outlaw groaned as I heled him to his feet.
"Why are you helping a criminal?" He asked as I slung one of his arms around my shoulders and helped him to walk back to my shop. I had to carry him up the stairs to my living quarters much to his annoyance.
"Because, I don't know what crime you comitted to become an outlaw, and I'm not going to leave you to those vultures out there." I said plling out clean cloth, thread, a needle and a pair of tweezers. The Outlaw removed his vest so I could remove the bullet shell from his chest. He winced as I extracted the small bullet and began to stitch the small hole. When I was finished he stood, pulled his vest back on and started to walk towards the stairs.
"Where are you going?" I asked stepping in front of him.
"I need to get out of here, Dissapear for awhile, let them think I'm dead." He growled.
"If you go then I'm coming too." I said lifting my chin bravely.
"Fine." The Outlaw glared at me.
"Get the essentials, Bedroll, Canteen, you know." He sighed sititng on the edge of my bed. I grabbed a pack from under my bed that held all of those things in saddlebags. I stuck a dagger in my belt and looked at him grimly.
"What's the plan?" I asked as we ducked into the stable behind my store and I quickly saddled my large red horse.
"I'll mount up and sneak out then you follow me, We meet at the oasis." He said reffering to the clear pool of cold water about a mile away. He saluted as I slipped onto the back of Flame, then he was gone. I watched the back of the saloon where he had tied his horse. When I saw a black blurr take off I trotted into the square sweating nervously.
"Where you going Coma?" The mayor barked. I smiled at him nonchalantly.
"I'm going to fetch some water, I'm out and I've still got a few daggers to do." I lied easily. He nodded gruffly and I nudged Flame into a trot again. When we were out of sight of the town I Kicked him into a gallop and we thundered over the dry red ground. When we reached the oasis The Outlaw was there letting his horse get a drink.
"We have five minuted till the mayor sends someone to check on me." I told him glancing over my shoulder as Flame took a long pull of the water.
"We need to get out then." The Outlaw said turning towards the mountains in the distance.
"I've got a Cabin up north, its a couple days ride but I've got rations enough for both of us." He said gruffly. I nodded and we started out galloping as far as we could before the horses needed a break.
"So how did you become an outlaw?" I asked looking at him as the horses loped easily next to eachother.
"I killed a man." He said not looking at me.
"My brother to be exact. And I can explain why. He was about to try to kill the mayor, I was simply trying to do my job when I shot my brother. But they declared that I be hanged, I broke away, stole a horse and ran for my life." He sighed patting his horse on the neck.
"And what's your real name?" I asked quirking a brow.
"Will you ever run out of questoins?" The Outlaw growled.
"I'll tell you all you want to know about me if you answer my question." I said earnestly.
"Ashley, Ashley Purdy. But call me Ash got it?" He responded. I nodded.
"Well, Now you're an outlaw too Chris." Ash chuckled. He was right, I could never go back.

I wanted to kiss the idiot so badly, but I was an outlaw I wasn't suposedto do stupid things like that. I shook my head realizing that 'Pretty Boy' (as I called him) had asked a question.
"What was that?" I asked. He rolled his eyes.
"I asked if we should turn in for tonight." Pretty Boy said.
"My lace if twenty minutes from here, We'll make it." I said resuming my gruff manor.

Ash and I had become great friends in our time together, He taught me how to quick draw, and told stories as we lay on our cots at night. He had actually warmed up to me, caling me 'Pretty Boy' affectionately and taking me wtih him on walks.
It was on oe of those walks that the truth was revealed. We had stopped near a stream and were letting our feet dangle in the water as we sat in a log that had falled across the stream. Before I knew he had moved Ash and I were standing in the stream and his arms were around my neck. I didn't protest as he kissed me quickly before drawing away with a deep blush across his cheeks. I smirked at im and pulled him into a real kiss. The force of the passion flooding through me hit me like a tornado as Our lips locked and moved in sync. We puled away and he smirked at me.
"Pretty Boy." He scoffed.
"Outlaw." I growled playfully before attacking him again
