The Way We Once Were

Chapter 1- New Beginnings

Yasmine's POV
Let's just say at the moment my life is complicated. Over the past few months I've been happy, but ever since me and my boyfriend Harris broke up life hasn't been the same. Even though I'm the one who ended the relationship, I don't regret it but I feel...blank... alone, lonely whatever you want to call it. I don't know what I was expecting when I left Harris, to meet someone so fast like in the movies where you instantly bump into someone and fall in love in an instant. But that's all fake stuff and my thoughts are currently killing me. It's 10am and I'm about to head to my favorite store to get my favorite fruit shake and enjoy a healthy drink before I start my favorite TV show Riverdale.

When I arrived at Freddy's Fruit Shakes, I order favorite drink the 'Go-green-Go'. Then I instantly head out to my car to go to the gym. I get out my phone to take a pic of my drink while I'm walking I bump into something that felt like a someone, and bam my drink fell to the floor. "Oh my gosh, I'm sorry" a guy says while I bend down on one knee to pick up the mess, and so does the guy but I still don't know how he looks like. "Don't" he says as he touches my hand. I look up to see the guy that's like really cute....Brown eyes, black hair, light skin. For a second we were just there staring at each other......

Adam's POV
Wow.... just wow. This girl I bumped into was...beautiful. We instantly go back to worrying about the mess and not each other. "This is all my fault" I say. "I was just about to go and get something, maybe I can get you your drink back" I say in a quick paste, hoping someone with beauty as hers wouldn't get mad. "It's whatever" she says while laughing, "You don't have to apologize, I'll be back here like tomorrow" she says kindly. Did I mention how beautiful she looked when she laughed, because she did. She picks up my mess and heads to the recycling to throw it away.

Yasmine's POV
As I throw the bottle in the recycling, I freeze and just think for a moment. Wow this guys cute and such a gentlemen. I turn around to see him and his friend or whatever with my drink the Go-green-Go. "I never got to introduce myself" he says while handing me the drink he'd just gotten for me. "I'm Adam" he says, "Thank you for the drink Adam. I'm Yasmine." I say with a smile. "Let me guess your a big fan if the Go-green-Go?" he says while laughing. "Beautiful smile and bad taste when it comes to drinks" he says. I laugh a little and we start to stare in each other's eyes for a while.

Adam's POV
"Adam!!" my friend Slim says. "We have to get going man" he says while running up to me. "We're gonna be late to my brothers house man" he says while breathing heavily. "Uh, yeah" I say "I totally forgot, for my vlog!!" I remember. "Umm, well I'll see you..."---- outta nowhere I get cut off by Slim."Your not gonna ever see her again" he says. "You haven't even given her your digits bro" he says in an obvious voice, Yasmine and I both laugh. Slim pulls a pen and paper from his pocket and says "I was prepared for you bro" he says, I see Yasmine chuckle a little. He writes my number on a tiny sheet of paper and hands it to Yasmine. "Uhhh thanks" she says in a slow, unsure way.

Yasmine's POV
Woo-hoo I guess I have Adam's number. "Well, uhh-" Slim interrupts me saying "Women, he doesn't just give you his number and you don't
yours, what are you crazy or somethin?" I chuckle a bit, "Ok, ok" I say, Adams friend pulls out and extra sheet of paper and pen for me to write my number "Once again, PREPARED" he says in a singing voice. "Oh yeah I'm Slim" he says. As I finish writing my writing my number I say "Well it was great meeting you Adam and Slim" I say politely "Yeah you-" Slim cuts him off, "Now you guys are guaranteed to see each other" he says. We all laugh and Adam and I say our goodbyes and I head home. I guess life in this case was like a movie for me... you bump into someone and it's love at first sight.
