Chapter 2: Woke (part 1)

Yasmine's POV

It was a sunny day here in San Diego, birds flying, and kids laughing from outside. I personally was bored and had nothing to do other than sit around and binge my favorite show Riverdale. After a while of watching the show, my phone made the sound that it regularly makes when I got a text from someone. Ding, ding, ding the sound went, "Ughhh" I sighed out to myself. "Do I really have to get up and get that",  I say while whining to get my phone from the kitchen counter. I finally get up to see that I've been getting spam messages from Adam. Ok it was actually worth the steps I think, I silently laugh while opening the messages. It's the guy from yesterday, Adam😂 just wondering if you wanted to hang out with me and Slim in like an hour today as friends or whatever. It's okay if you don't I totally understand the stranger danger thing, you can bring someone if you'd like to.😂😂So yeah. I smile a bit while reading the message, Adam seemed like a pretty chill guy who was just looking for a friend to hang out with. So I agreed to come along with him and Slim and bring my one of my girl-friends named Sasha along. I let Sasha know that she's coming with me and tell her that she basically has no choice and was gonna be there for me like she's always had been since middle school. I let out a loud sigh and say "What do I even wear?".

After nearly getting ready for what felt like eternity, I was ready. I checked in the mirror to make sure my makeup and my outfit were both on point. I decided to wear my black leggings with a white shirt and a red plaid flannel around my waist cause why not. I grabbed my white converse that matched my outfit perfectly and put them on. I texted Sasha to see if she was ready and she was, so she decided to walk to my apartment where she lived on the second floor. When she arrived she complimented my outfit and asked if me and Adam were more than friends. "I barely know the guy" I say obviously, "People like other people even if they don't know them" Sasha reminds me. "Especially like how we were in middle school" she says, we both laugh and I can finally see her point. "Well we're just friends that's all" I say "And plus I basically got friend zoned when we were texting earlier" I mention while laughing. "Girl your kidding right?" Sasha says while almost letting out a huge laughter "Show me" she's says while laughing. I show her the part in our message where he wrote "----in like an hour today as friends or whatever." Sasha stops laughing and looks at me, "You don't know what that means?!?" she says out loud. I look at her really confused, "He likes you!" she says. "As friends or whatever?" she says while making her voice deep to sound like a guy. "Nooo" she shouts back in her regular voice, "If he wanted to just hang out he wouldn't say that" Sasha says once more. "It's  really not that serious" I remind her "We're friends who are just hanging out to know each other better. And plus if he was into me like that why would he even invite his friend to come along with us?" I say. Sasha lets out a sigh while rolling her eyes "The same reason I'm here to ge--- you know what? Whatever" she says. "We're gonna be late" I say while laughing, "We better head out" Sasha says. From the tone of her voice I can tell that she still hadn't let go of what we just talked about....
