Emily's POV

I spin around and stare at the clock on my dresser. Crap. It was already 4:00. I had to hury. Cody was going to be here in 30 minutes. I quickly change out of my sweats and into something suitable. He was taking me to a concert for our favorite band.

I take on more look at my self and the doorbell rings. I skip down the stares and swing the door open. After letting Cody in, I run back up the stares to brush my hair one more time and put on a beannine. Cody gave it to me as a going away present. I just finished college and I was living alone.

Cody appears in the doorway. He jams his fist into his pockets and leans up against the door frame. Once I catch him staring, I turn to him and say, " you know it's not right." He snaps out of his trance. " What?" He asks standing up. " You can't like me," I answer. " Why not?" He says trying to flirt.

" What would our moms say about it?" " Well my mom would be like ' she's your cousin, that's just wrong'." " Yeah, that's what I'm talking about. You and me don't mix well. You're fire. I'm ice." I say. " Whatever floats your boat, Icequeen," He replies.

" That's what I'm saying. You can't help but flirt with your own cousin. God, I hate you," I say playfully. " Okay, I can always invite someone else last minute," He says holding up our tickets. I lean up against the wall next to him.

He smirks and stands in front of me. " Don't get any ideas, loverboy," I push past him. " Who are you calling loverboy?" He asks following after me. I chuckle as we walk down the stairs together. " Spencer got tickets and he's carpulling. You okay with that?" he asks. I nod. There really was no choice. If I said no he was going to say too bad. And that would be the end of it. That's how most of our debates end.

Usually when Cody is being his normal Flirty-self, other people always say " Aw, what a cute couple." Cody smiles and I just glare. Then I'll usually say, " Oh, no, just a little cousinly love." That does it. Cody doesn't respond but I know he's mad. You can always tell when someone is mad.

We finally arive at a house that is small but looks like it could be huge. Cody walks up to the door and just opens it. He doesn't even knock. I close the door and wait there silently. Cody runs off so I am practiclay vulnerable. There are a few hushed voices coming from around the corner.

" Spencer! I told you to stop it! Just let it go, okay?" a voice exclaims. It kinda sounded like a girl. I walk to the corner and quickly peek around it. There, in the hallway, stand Spencer and the girl. I guess she saw me because it gets really quiet.

I walk back to the door and stand there not making a noise. If I hadn't of been so scared I wouldn't have worried about breathing. While holding my breathe, I stand still as Spencer and the girl turn the corner. Spencer's eyes lighten up when he sees me.

" It's just M," He says to the girl. I let out a small sigh. Mostly to let out the breathe I had been holding. " Cody's in the living room," He says motioning for me to leave. I hadn't realized it until he grabbed my wrist and pulled me through the house.

We reach an empty room which, ovbiously, contians exactly nothing. " Look, tell me the truth. Are you dating Cody? You don't have to hide it by saying you're his cousin." He whispers. I just stare up at him.

" You're kidding, right?" I ask shocked. He shakes his head. I burst out laughing. " No, but I have the feeling you aren't the only one who wants to asks that," I respond. He sighs and grabs my wrist again and pulls me to a room that has a couch, a small tv, and a fireplace.

Cody is sitting on the couch with his arm propped up on the back. I smile and sit on the carpet in front of him. Not directly infront of him. About 5 feet away. A comfortable 5 feet I must add. " So," I start looking around, " when do we leave?"

" Why? Are you egare to leave?" he asks. " As a matter of fact, yes, yes I am. Spencer creeps me out," I tell him. He rolls his eyes, " Spencer creeps out everyone." " So do you," I add. " Now look whose flirting," He says sarcastically. I stand up and head for the front door.

Cody grabs my arm and spins me around. He holds on to both of my arms near the shoulders. " What? Are you going to kiss me now?" I ask digusted. " Maybe," He says trying to act cool. " Gross," I say pulling out of his grip.

I turn back around to face him. " This has gone too far, Cody. Will you please cut it out?" I ask staring at him. He steps closer. I just step back. " I'm not sure," he says putting a peice of my fallen hair behind my ear. I roll my eyes and walk away.

" I'm getting the feeling you aren't messing with me anymore," I say almost in the hallway. Once I reach the door, Cody stops me. " Again, leave me alone. Just for a little while. Please?" I beg. He sighs and opens the door.

A car out front starts up and Spencer gets out. " You two love birds finished?" He asks. I send Spencer a glare and then Cody. " Do I sense some tension going on here?" He asks walking us to the car. I jump in the passengers seat and look out the window.

Most of the car ride is silent. Cody and Spencer are the only ones who talk. They play a little music but I try my best to stay out of it. Cody must not understand that I don't like him that way and that he shouldn't either.

We reach a stadium. Of course, I'm the first to get out. Cody walks up to me and places a lanyard around my neck. I smile at him and then look away. Our conversations are limited. Again, it was mostly Cody and Spencer who talk. They'll ask me a question every once in a while. And I politly answer.

We reach the entrance and show the gaurd our lanyards. He lets us in and we walk to another room. Since we got VIP passes( not saying we are actual Very Important Peple), we get to go to certian rooms. Like backstage and places where you meet the band.

We reach one of those fan rooms and wait for the band to come out. A guard waits infront of the door. I've met the band before, but I'm sure they don't even remember me. Cody is close friends with one of the band memebers. That's how I was able to meet them.

(If you were wondering, the band is Blck Veil Vrides, of course)

The band walks out of the door and they walk around and talk to people. I look down the whole time until someone stands I front of me. I look up and find who I thought would never come up to me. He smiles first. I return it as he pulls me into a hug. He pulls my beanie off and says, " M, this is so out of fashion. Who got it for you? Oh, let me guess, Cody?"

I nod at his question. " Why so shy?" someone asks. I turn to find CC. He is cool and all but he could get a little annoying. " Oh, no reason. Andy took my beanie," I say softly. " Andy! What is it with you and taking things from innocent girls?" CC questions. I let out a little giggle.

" Who? M? She's not innocent," he says reluctantly handing my beanie back. I place it over my curls. I didn't really bother to style it today. " I thought you forgot about me," I say staring back at Andy. " Who could forget you?" He says back. " I could," someone call. I didn't even have to see him to know who it was. I spun around and stared at Ashley. " But you're like a brother to me. Well, the brother I never wanted," I comment.

" Ouch, hurtful much?" Someone else calls. Jinxx. " Ouch, jealious much?" I call back. " You don't have to be so rude, M," Jake says walking up. " Oh, gosh. You don't have to crowd," I say looking at all of them. At that, they all step closer, enclosing me in a circle. All 5 of them, Jake, Ashley, Jinxx, CC, and Andy, stared at me.

" Guys, you're being weird," Cody calls out. " Yeah," Spencer adds. They all step away. I slowly walk up to Ashley. I'm still confused why his parents would name him that. Oh, well. " Ashley?" I ask softly. He turns around. " I was kidding. You know that, right?" he asks. I nod. He suddenly pulls me into a hug.

" Is Cody still bothering you?" He asks in a mear whisper. I tense up a little. Maybe not answering would be best. " Emily, you can't let him do this. It's wrong," He says pulling away. I throw him my best smile. At least I tried.
