So as y'all know I just got picked for drum major and that's exciting! My good friend Bryan (who's going to be a senior) is head drum major and Anna is the other drum major with me.
The only problem is front field (podium on the front side that the band watches next to Bryan) and back field haven't been decided yet
I'm a junior and Anna's a senior. My conducting and Bryan's conducting match. The band respects me, not her and the band will go up in mutiny when they find out she got it because they really don't want her to have it.
Logically, I should be front field and I pray that I'm front field.
But Anna legit is already making a move for a power grab for front field and she has zero respect for me. Bryan and I just came up with our salute today because Anna left to do homework, so we called her back after we perfected it so she can learn it before the reveal at the concert so we look amazing.
So, she comes back and then Bryan and I start teaching her with the old drum majors watching and she legit fucking ignored me the entire time. I came up with the majority of the salute and I was helping Bryan teach her and she didn't even look at me once. Literally. When she asked questions, I would answer some of them and she literally would ignore me and only take Bryan's answer because he's head drum major. She can't be head drum major so she respects him, but she's making a power grab for front field and I've got to stop her or else the band is going to suffer.
My friend Nick is a principle trumpet player and he literally says the trumpets will take anyone but Anna as their drum major. And guess who got it?? Anna. This is literally going to be like one of those "not my president" kind of things.
I'm just really frustrated and I just want the band to be successful. I'm kind of mad at the band teacher for picking Anna as drum major when there were plenty of capable people besides her who the band respects. The band won't listen to her at all because she's a crap person and she thinks she has authority and control over everyone. Sigh.
