I was awoken by the rays of sunlight that shone through the window behind my bed. It seemed ironic. We are at war with an alien species, yet the weather acts unaware, giving us bright sunshine, and the few clouds that dot the sky. I was thinking about the dream I had yesterday when a man in military uniform, who looked to be a Commander, came into my room.

"Good morning Mr.Rickford, I trust you had a good nights sleep, besides the nightmare you and your fellow friends had yesterday. I want to discuss some important matters with you and the others when possible. Take your time getting up, you have a long road ahead of you."

I barely comprehended what the commander said, still being tired from waking up. I looked at the clock on the wall. 7:00! Why so early? I decided that the commander would probably be waiting, so I got out of the bed, and put on some clothes that were left by the door. A T-shirt and some jeans. Wow, very military like.

After I put the clothes on, I rang the intercom button, as I realized that the shining white door was locked shut, and no visible way to open it. I was greeted by a friendly female voice.

"Good morning Mr.Rickford, an official will be with you shortly to lead you to the briefing room."

Briefing room? I thought this was a hospital, not the Pentagon.

In less than a minute the door opened, and a man in his late 30's was at the door, dressed like he was from MIB. "Follow me sir, the briefing room is right this way." was the only thing he said. After taking a right, and a left in the gleaming hallway, we were at a door labeled "Briefing Room" This whole place looked like something from a sci-fi movie. The walls, ceiling, and doors were all shining white metal. Only the floor was black, with red lights along the edges.

The man swiped a card through a card reader next to the door, and it opened in the most complicated way possible, too complex to describe. When I walked in, the commander was standing behind at a crescent shaped table, and sitting in front of it were the 6 other people from my dream! The commander invited me to take a seat, and I obliged. He then gave a speech that changed my life.
