Our Love

Chapter 1: Where it all began.

It's December 21st. The night that changed everything. But before we get into that let me introduce myself. Hello my name is Paige. I am 14 but 13 in the story at the moment. Dark brown hair. And I'll explain more about me later but let's get back to the story shall we? But bare with me because this is all based on memory. And I'm a little scattered brained.

"Ahh it doesn't even seem like Christmas yet, I can't believe it's been a year since the family Christmas party!" I said excitedly. We were on our way to this Christmas party that my family had every year. And every year we all stay at a hotel for the night. When we got there it was the same as it always is. Lots of people, lots of food, and lots of fun.

I was with my older cousin Megan who was 16 at the time. Megan and I are very close.We walked around the party greeting family members and talked with some of them. There's like 9,000,000,000 of them so there was no possible way I could have talked to all of them. We had a fun time at the party. We ate a lot of food and opened some gifts from some relatives.

"It's getting late, do you want to go back to the hotel and swim before the pool closes and just run around the hotel?" Megan asked me. "Yeah sounds good, let's tell Kimmy," I said. Kimmy is my step mom. So we told our parents we wanted to go back to the hotel and it wasn't hard to persuade them because they've been drinking and having a good time.

We drove back to the hotel excited to just go on adventures and run around the hotel. When we got to the hotel we put our stuff in our rooms and changed into our bathing suits and put on shorts and a tshirt just to walk around the hotel.

As we were walking I spotted a curly haired boy who was tall. He was wearing a grey tshirt that was cut down both sides so I could see his abs. "Woah, he's super cute!" I said. "Who? Where?!" Megan asked excitedly. "Look over there in the game room, he's playing pool with a girl. Ugh, it must be his girlfriend.." I said sounded disappointed. We continued to walk around the hotel and Megan needed to go to the bathroom so she went back to our room and I just kept walking.

I was walking towards my parents room when I noticed someone was working out in the weight room of the hotel. I walked over there and glanced in the window and I saw the cute curly haired boy lifting. Right as I glanced over at him he looked at me. Me feeling embarrassed turned around and ran away.

I remember thinking to myself "oh my god, you're an idiot Paige. He probably thinks you're a stalker. Just keep walking, keep walking." So after that I found Megan and we decided to go back to our parents room where every was hanging out. We ordered pizza like we do every year and watched snl and just talked for a bit. We all shared laughs until it was 12:30 and all the old people decided they wanted to go to bed.

When we got back to our rooms my sister Taylor, Megan, and I got ready for bed. And my cousin Jimmy and his girlfriend Jayme came back from bowling. We were just all laying in bed on our phones. We were all just about to fall asleep when we hear someone crying and sobbing extremely loud. The sound got gradually louder. It sounded like a women crying uncontrollably. Then it sounded like she was on the outside of our room sitting on the chairs.

We were all just like what is going on. So we got up and tried to look around the curtain that was infront of the sliding glass door to see what was happening. And there was a lady crying really loud who seemed to be drunk sitting on the chairs in front of our room. We all started laughing really hard at this lady. We heard guys outside the room trying to calm this lady down. As we were all dying of laughter I got an idea.

"Oh my god what if I opened the curtain!" They all died laughing and thought it'd be hilarious if I were to open the curtain really fast and to see the looks on the guys face when I opened it. So I gave my sister my phone to record it and I pulled open the curtain really fast. And there he was. There was the curly haired boy and 2 other guys but I didn't really pay attention to them because I was just looking at the curly haired boy. They held up their hands mouthing "sorry!" And did a motion that looked like they were drinking something and mouthed "she's been drinking" we all continued laughing.

After all of that they called the cops on the women and got everything handled. I thought the boy was cute so when he was walking around with his older cousin I took pictures of him walking by. Yes I am a creeper like that. And then his older cousin said something funny through the glass to me and Megan.

So everything died down and my sister Taylor said to close the curtain and turn the light off. As I was about to fall asleep I heard something that sounded like ping pong balls being thrown at our door. So I got up and opened the curtain again to see the curly haired boy and his cousin sitting outside by their room. When I glared at them they pointed up, accusing the people above us doing it when it was clearly them. So I closed the curtain and went to bed.

The next morning I woke up early for church. I got ready first because everyone else was moving pretty slow and I usually don't take long to get ready because I'm speed racer. So after I got ready I went out to sit on the chairs in front of our room. So I sat down and I looked at the door and I noticed a note taped on the door. I jumped up and grabbed it. And on the note it said Ben the long hair one and jake the tall one and it had both of their numbers on it. I ran in the room and called for Megan. "Look! Look! They put their numbers on our door!" She took the note and looked at it for a minute then back at me and I was jumping up and down with excitement.

I took the paper and added their numbers to my contact list then gave the paper to Megan and did the same. We went to church then after church we decided to eat breakfast at the hotel because they had a buffet. Everyone went to eat and Megan and I went back to the room to put our coats down. As I was walking back to the room Ben was sitting outside of his room and we made eye contact. My heart skipped a beat when this happened but I kept walking and I could feel him staring me down as I walked past him. I smiled and walked back to the room.

After we put our coats down we headed to eat in the hotel but we again passed Ben I walked really slow so I could get a good look at him. After we passed him we went to eat and I started texting him. The first thing I ever texted him was "Hey Ben Long Hair:)" he texted back seconds later with "Hey how are you?:)" and then he asked for my name and a picture of me. After I sent him a picture to show him which one I was he said "Oh I thought that was you:)" and then we talked for a little longer. Later I got done eating I went back to the room with everyone else and we layed down. I continued to talk to him and right as I was about to go maybe say hi in person they left. I was really sad by this. But I got over it.

I asked him where he lived and he told me the town and it's the same town that almost all of my dad's side of the family lives in. And it's an hour away from where I live and 20 minutes from my dad. So that made me happy. After an hour or so my cousin Jimmy and Jayme were ready to go so I got my stuff and we left the hotel. I talked to Ben all the way home. As I was getting to know him I thought he seemed like a nice person and he was cute.

Eventually I got home and I greeted my mom and put my bags in my room. I told my mom about the drunk lady and about how cute Ben was but I didn't tell her that I got his number and that I was talking to him. She thought it was strange and kind of funny how they put her down on our porch. After talking to her I got a snack and sat down on the couch. And got sleepy. And Ben told me he was tired too so he said "why don't we both take a nap? Text me when you wake up." I thought it was cute so I fell asleep on the couch then a couple hours I got up and texted him back.
