I'm still sitting on the bed while rubbing my temples. I don't remeber Becca being one to interrupt every five seconds.
"He marks you. We've gotten this far. Then you mate. Which means um you know," I hinted. She looked so dumbfounded that I could literally cry right now.
"What humans do to make babies, " I blurted out a little to loudly for my liking.
"Oh! Why didn't you just say sex?" she asked. I hissed and covered my ears.
"Moving on. If you don't mate th-" I started to say until I was interrupted.
"Have sex, " Becca interjected.
"Whatever. Then you start going into heat. Which is horrifying heat that you can't explain unless you go through it but I didn't so I don't know. There you go, " I finally finished. Becca was red with embarrassment but she also smiled proudly at managing to piss me off. I was never one to get pissed off as a human so she was probably having the time of her life right now.
"So, " Becca started.
"So, " I mocked her.
"You said you were changed? " she asked with a questioning tone.
"That I was, " I answered quietly as memories tore at my brain like an angry animal.
"So how do wolves turn humans into wolves?" she asked.
"Mostly by biting them but some can by scratching. Usually it takes a no then or so for the human to shift. Also they usually shift on a full moon but if they were just turned let's say two weeks ago then their wolf isn't string enough yet so they won't shift. I was a special case. Since I had to different venoms coursing through my body and with me once being a wolf along with having my father's blood I was able to survive, " I stated.
"Woah. What's the chances of humans surviving?" she inquired. I shot her a glare Becaude I was starting to think that she wanted this information for another reason. I thought back to one of the many conversations that I had with my dad.
"Why do you want to know? " I decided to ask the questions this time.
" Uh just wondering, " Becca said looking down at her feet while twisting her hair around in her fingers. I knew what this was all to well.
"You're doing the thing, " I almost yelled. I raised my voice to get her attention.
"What thing? I have no clue what you mean!" She pleaded.
"You're averting eye contact and fidgeting with your hair! You do that when you lie, " I accused.
"Fine! Yes I wanted to know because I want to be like you! Is that so bad?" she admitted. I sighed and relaxed my shoulders. I decided to talk calmer this time.
"Trust me when I say this. You being human doesn't make you any less strong or important. If anyone including myself wanted to change you I wouldn't let them. I remeber my dad telling me stories of people who drag in humans that have bitten. He said there had to of been thousands. He'd push them and train them but refused to get attached because not many live. Only a hundred or two make it, " I replied. I saw the sadness form in her eyes as she looked up at me.
"Why don't more live?" She struggled to ask.
"When you shift all of your bones break and reform before fusing together. Your whole body breaks and changes. Your organs have to move around so they are compatible with your new form. Fur forces its way through your skin. It's not some kind of painless magic. It hurts. I shifted the morning after I was changed and I was lucky. Since it was in my blood I shifted quick and already built that pain tolerance. Werewolves have such a high pain tolerance. Humans don't have that high of one. They can go into shock or even cardiac arrest. What would Gabriel think if you tried to change for him when he loves you how you are and you die? Think about that. You don't want this, " I explained. She sighed and breathed deeply before nodding her head.
"You're right. I think I'll stay this way because that sounds like to much pain and I'd hate to go through working out and training to live," she replied.
"So when you called about being in an arranged marriage, was that your mate?" Becca asked. I know she meant well but right now I swear there are ghost daggers digging into my heart.
"Yeah. I don't even know if he's my mate anymore or if he's even alive. Jace stripped my mark. I'll give you more on Jace another day but he has held me prisoner while torturing and using me as a test subject for a few years. He stripped my mark so that means Tyler can't feel me as well anymore. He can't tap into my mind anymore either. It really does suck but all of the feelings that I once had for him are exponentially decreasing as the days drag on. I want to go home but I can't. Which all of my problems peas back to the same hopeless solution, " I started while standing and walking to a near by window.
"Which is what exactly?" Becca asked before standing to join me at the window.
"I have to kill Jace in order to ever be free to rule my kingdom and love my family, " I continued. I felt her gaze snap to me for a split second.
"Why can't you kill him after all of the horrible things that he has done to you? Are you scared of him?" she interrogated.
"No, Jace doesn't scare me. It's just I keep making all of these plans on how to kill him but they all end the same way which I don't want it to end that way," I stated while turning to look at Becca.
"How does it end?" Becca asked.
"Well werewolves ,vampires, and any other creature threatened by Jace won't have to worry about him again. He'll be dead but the thing is I'll be dead as well, " I finished.
