His question kept replaying in my mind while my brain scanned for an answer.
"There's nothing at all that you don't already know sir," Cheyenne rushed out. She talks about my inability to lie well she should listened to herself in this moment. Suddenly all eyes were on her. I could feel James's anger from here and the urge to protect Cheyenne from him flared to life.
"I want talking to you now was I?" his cold voice asked. Cheyenne dropped eye contact and stared at her hand. Suddenly James grabbed her bad ankle and started to squeeze which caused Cheyenne to help.
"I expect an answer!" he growled.
"No sir, " Cheyenne cried. His grip tightened but before he could open his mouth I had tackled him to the floor. He frowned which only made the animal inside me stir. He tried to throw an unexpected punch to my gut but I caught his hand and sent one to his face. Cheyenne and Johnson gasped while James shared the same face of disbelief.
"Don't ever do that to her again or anyone else or you'll be sorry, " I warned. Suddenly someomenhit me like a ton of bricks which sent me flying and rolling across the room until a wall stopped my motion. I stood up unaffected by the hit. The warrior that hit me was helping James up when a frantic Carter and amused Dylan hurried into the room.
"Cheyenne I felt your pain what happened!?" Carter coughed put between breaths.
"Alpha James got a little angry, " she started.
"This isn't story time! Get that girl and throw her in the dungeon for assaulting her alpha!" James barked.
"Father she felt a need to protect. You need to keep your anger under control. Besides she wouldn't make it a day in the dungeon," Dylan insulted. Now I wanted to rip him up again.
"Let's just drop it and go home shall we?" Dylan finished.
"Fine but the isn't over, " James said while pointing a finger at me. He stormed out with his warrior near by. Dylan smirked and mouth a your welcome to me. He stood there expecting a thank you but stead I flipped him off and mouth asshole back to him for the insult. He huffed and rolled his eyes before walking out.
"Thank you for protecting her when I wasn't here to, " Carted thanked.
"I'd do it again anytime, " I replied with a smile.
"Do you think that maybe he can know what I know? It'll make my life a lot easier, " Cheyenne questioned.
"Fine, " I replied. After filling Carter in he seemed very interested.
"Woah Woah wait just one second now. You don't eat or drink so you need to use the bathroom at all. You don't need to sleep. You also can run the speed of a wolf in human form," he said in a questioning tone.
"Correct," I confirmed.
"That's like the perfect life. How old are you? You must have many more years to live this wonderful life of yours, " he asked.
"Well that question is hard to answer," I replied.
"Why?" Cheyenne inquired skeptically.
"Uh well because I'm like immortal,"I rushed out. I stood there as innocently as possible while Cheyenne and Carter exchanged a surprised look.
"What!?" they both yelled.
"I'm forever 16 but I'm actually like 18 or 19. I don't know anymore. Let's talk about something else now. Preferably not me, " I suggested.
"You're immortal? Like the immortal wolves? Like the higher up pack's are and the royal family?" she interrogated. When she said royal family my body froze. With all the events that have happened today I kinda forgot about my own situation.
"Yes like them," I confirmed.
"Have you ever met the royal family. Word either spreads faster than the plague or slower letters did across the world three hundred years ago so does that hybrid princess really exist?" Carter interrogated.
"Better question. Is the prince cute or hot or anything like that?" Cheyenne asked. Carter snapped his eyes to Cheyenne with an expression that made me want to die of laughter.
"What it's ok to look," she defended.
"Oh so I guess I'll just look to see if the princess is hot, " he fired back. Cheyenne growled.
"At least what i'm looking at is confirmed to exist," she replied. I stood there awaiting for Carter to reply but when nothing came out I took it as my opportunity to speak.
"First off I'm not talking about the prince. After all he is my b- I mean our brilliant prince," I covered. They both raised an eyebrow at me but I continued.
"I've been in the castle but I've never met the family before. They seem really Uh snotty?" I replied with a questioning tone. Carter and Cheyenne were so excited. If they weren't mates then they'd be twins of some sort because they seemed so much alike in this moment. You could tell that they were thinking of questions but their thinking process was interrupted by a knock on the door.
"Come in its unlocked, " Cheyenne called out from her bed. A strawberry blonde nurse stepped in with a clipboard.
"Hi Cheyenne. I'm your nurse and I am here to see how you're doing, " she stated with a smile that you'd see on a commercial.
"Way better. It doesn't even hurt anymore," she stated while returning the smile.
"In that case here are your releaseal forms. Sign the lines that I put the red mark by. You need to take it easy the next few days but then you'll be as good as new. We're lucky that werewolves heal faster than normal humans am I right?" she informed. She was a very perky person and I wasn't sure how much longer I could fake smile.
"Totally right, " I agreed. When Cheyenne was done with the forms the nurse dissapeared and came back to give Cheyenne a copy of all her papers before giving us the go ahead to leave. I was happy to get out of that.
