I had already gotten a shower and been dresses in a spandex navy blue tank top with black shorts for the day. Seeing as I have no need for sleep other than to pass time I might as well think all night. I was finishing lacing up my grey running shoes when my door flew open to reveal the alpha himself standing there with all of his imaginary glory. He didn't even notice me sitting on the ground.
"Rise and shine it's time for tea- oh and you're already up. Most teens are still asleep but since you seem to be special or want to be special you can go ahead want to be special,  you can go and give me an extra three mile warm up, " he said with a sickening grin. I plastered on my best innocent smile I could before grabbing his wrist that was dangling by his side and hoisting myself up with more force than necessary. This caused him to stumble forward. I shoulder checked him before heading towards the door.
"Of course alpha, " I called over my shoulder and continued on my way out while listening to the words he mumbled kinder his breath. The second I stepped out on the field I saw a very amused Dylan so I presume his dad linked him to make sure I did my warm up. I started at a quick pace and kept it steady. Since I don't breath either I don't run out of breath but I've mastered the art of looking like I'm breathing. I was midway through my second mile when Dylan decided that the best way to entertain himself was by yelling at me.
"Come on! Everyone can do better than that! I can do twice as good!" he screamed. I felt my wolf growl in my mind but I shut her.
"Well I have a hard time believing that since I don't see you out here doing it, " I fired back. His jaw slightly dropped and his eyes held disbelief.
"You just talked back to an alpha! That's disrespectful!" Dylan shouted now with a slight smirk.
"Last time I checked I joined your dad's pack not yours!" I yelled at him. By now he was red and I finished my third mile.
"Well you little-," he started to say and walk towards me but his dad stopped him by laying a hand on his shoulder.
"What's the problem here?" his dad demanded.
"Nothing sir just some smack talk to get us pumped for training, " I answered with a slight smile to make it at least a little bit believable.
"Well in that case, son you need to start controlling yourself. And you! You need to tone it back because a little she wolf like yourself wouldn't be able to handle him if he happened to shift, " James warned. A laugh instantly escaped my lips before I could contain it but I was able to quickly catch myself and shut my mouth before my cover was blown. James gave me a very questionable look while a growl that made it harder not to laugh rolled out of Dylan's mouth. He pushed forward and shifted into a very angry brown wolf with deep green eyes. His dad took a step back in what seemed to be fear which caused me to scuff.
"For the sake of your life Paige run away now!" he ordered. His voice barley came out which I found pathetic.
"He doesn't scare me one bit, " I retorted back. James looked at me with disbelief before fury crossed his featured.
"Fine maybe I'll let him take a nice chunk out of you so you'll learn some respect you ungrateful girl!" he screamed before nodding his head Dylan. His paws pushed him forward whirl ripping and the healthy grass and rich dirt below his feet. I stood still and waited for the right moment. Others had gathered to watch. Some came for training while others heard the scene. Finally he pushed off his back paws trying to make a leap towards my face but I quick and grabbed the top of his snout before dropping down. His body flipped causing his back to make contact with the ground. He instantly tried to get me off of his muzzle which only made it lore enjoyable for me. The sun was rising over the horizon but it was hidden with dense clouds. This made it a little easier for others to see but not me since my vision was perfect. I let his snout go after seconds of him thrashing around. He growled and charged me once but I once again dropped down but this time I was able to get on my back so I could use my front legs to kick him in the chest which caused his figure to leave the ground and fly back. He landed on his side while continuing to skid across the grass. He rolled uncontrollably until his body was stopped by large rock. He stood back up on all fours and growled. The perfect medium brown fur that covered him was now streaked with darker marks from dirt and the morning dew making patches darker that usual from the wetness. He let his wolf shake off its coat before snarling. The sound of him snapping his jaws at me scared everyone back but just annoyed me since the noise was useless in this case. I stood there with an amused expression which caused him to growl even more.
"I know I'm a girl but for goddess sake isn't this whole not giving me a good fight breaking your ego a little bit? Get your ass over here and give me the fight I deserve, " I challenged with my voice being venomous. I felt his paws hit the ground through the vibration sent through it. A smile broke across my face at this action. A dating look cross his features when he lunged at me. Mid leap he shifted back trying to confuse me but I easily grabbed his arms that were stretched in my direction. I spun and landed so that I had a forearm across his throat with his hands pinned in mine above his head. I was sitting on his abdomen.
"Trust me when I say this. This episode may have given something away but I still have plenty to hide, " I whispered in his ear bofore getting off and stepping back towards the crowd.
