BZZZ BZZZ
'ugh' The sound of my alarm was like a punch in the face. Monday. I groaned as I reached over to turn it off.

The weekend was a blur, I had to sneak into the house Saturday night and slept all day Sunday to try and avoid conflict with Luke-ass. But now it's Monday and I have to get up, despite the pounding headache I had from over sleeping.

I pulled myself out of bed and found clothes to put on. The house was quiet, which made me suspicious because usually mum would be up making breakfast in the kitchen and Lucas would be talking loudly at her. Slowly I walked out of my bedroom, my steps were precise and light. I peered our into the kitchen and saw nothing, relaxing just a little bit.

I decided I was being stupid and started packing my bag. That's when Lucas appeared from around the corner.

"Big weekend?" He asked with a low voice.

"Sure." I replied as I continued to get ready, I knew I was in trouble but what could he do about it? That's when his switch flipped.

Swiftly, Lucas came up to me, pushing me against the counter with his hand around my throat. I looked at him wide eyed, gaping as my heart pounded.

"Listen here you little shit! I've put up with your crap since day one and this is the last fucking straw! I don't care about you anymore than you care about me, but if you love your mother you will treat me with respect from this moment forward. Am I understood?" He growled out. By this point he was so close to my face that I could feel every breath he took. I nodded fearfully in response to his threat, then he continued,

"You think I won't do anything to you because I married your mother? You're wrong. The next time I speak to you , you'd better be respectful or else I'll brake every bone in your miserable body and make your mother watch." I let out a small gasp and my bottom lip started to quiver. I could feel tears building up in my eyes but I refused to show such weakness.

Lucas slowly tightened his grip around my throat before letting go then stormed out of the kitchen.

Suddenly I could breath and I dropped to the floor as I grasped my throat and cried. I couldn't hear over the sound of my heart beating rapidly against my chest. A million thoughts rushed through my head. 'Why are we even here? What does mum see in him? We need to get out of this place.'

I took a long, deep breath and regained myself. I wanted to call out to my mum but I was too afraid to make any sound. So I composed myself and quietly kept getting ready for school then left.

When I arrived, I found Lanie, because we both had first period together. I didn't tell her what happened, but I must have looked shaken because she asked if I was okay with a worried expression. I told that I was just tired and she let it go.

I couldn't concentrate all lesson. So much had happened the past few days. Almost dying, the thing that vampire said and then Lucas this morning and on top of all that, I couldn't shake the feeling that I was being watched.

The bell went then Lanie and I went to find Brooke and Hendrix. We sat at the canteen like we usually did and Brooke told Lanie about the party. As expected she thought what we did was a horrible idea but didn't judge us.

I noticed Hendrix look behind me and frown then look at me. "What's wrong?" I asked

"They know it was us." He said quietly, nodding at the group of vamps siting at the table behind us. I turned to see them and they glared.
