Chapter Two: Blood Sucking Vermin

I woke up with a pounding headache. I haven't been getting much sleep lately because Lucas has started to show his true colours.

It turns out he's more of an ass than what I thought he was, like if there was a galaxy dedicated to assholes and butt dwellers he'd reign supreme.

I took a deep breath and made my way out of bed and to the kitchen. It was Saturday so I decided to get something to eat then go back to my room, I wanted to avoid Lucas at all costs.

As I walked back my room, I noticed my phone screen had lit up, the name on the screen was Wham Bam Jam. I smiled at the name I'd given Brooke, I guess first impressions really do count.

*Wham Bam Jam*- Hey chicka, wanna do sumthin 2nite? i hear theres a party hapning at the Vladmyers... n i happnd across sum firecrackers... 😈

I thought for a moment, 'It would be fun to crash a vampire party, but if they find out they would drain all the blood from mine and Brooke's bodies...'

*Rory*- Mmm I donno, what if they find out it was us? I think I'll just stay home

*Wham Bam Jam*- Com on Rory! U've been home evry weekend since u started skool here. Com on live a lttle wood ya? Plus i hve no other frends n this is a 2 wolf job

I sighed and said out loud, "Well she's got a point Rory, it's been three weeks and you've done nothing with yourself... plus you could get away from Luke-ass for a night." The sound of getting away for a bit appealed to me.

Before I could reply my phone buzzed and a different name popped up.

*Hendy*- Hey, Josh just dumped me... need someone to talk to if you have time...

My heart ached when I read the message. Hendrix had been head over heels for Josh and would have done anything for him.

*Rory*- Hey, of course I have time xx if it makes you feel better, Brooke and I are going to set off some firecrackers at the Vladmyer party tonight if you want to come?

*Hendy* Haha, I'm guessing that was Brooke's idea? Leave it up to that girl to crash a vampire party... But I'll come, I need to blow off some steam...

*Wham Bam Jam* Helllooo i hvnt got al day Rory (wel i do but thas not the point) so r u in or out? Plz be in 🤞🏻

*Rory* Yeah I'll come, and Hendrix split with Josh so he'll come too

I met Brooke and Hendrix outside the school, Hendrix was the last one to arrive.
While we were waiting for him, Brooke rambled on about how much fun this was going to be. And how this would show the vampires for treating us like crap.

I laughed at her while she was talking, this would be fun and to my surprise I was actually kind of excited.

I spotted Hendrix in the distance and waved. He smiled and waved back, but I could tell the smile was forced, because his eyes were puffy and red. He looked like he wanted to crawl into a hole and die.

We'd been texting throughout the day and although he said he was handling things fine, I could tell he wasn't. But in classic wolf behaviour he buried his pain deep down and acted like it didn't effect him.

Brooke took something out of her bag and without explanation and sprayed it on us.
"What the hell was that?"
"What?" She asked, puzzled, like what she did was normal.
"That thing you did with the spray?" I pushed.
"Ohhh, that thing, yeah that's so our vampire friends can't smell us."
"Ohhh..." Hendrix and I said in unison.
"But we won't be able to turn into our wolves, so don't go getting caught, cause I ain't gon help you."

Hendrix and I shared a worried glance as Brooke drenched herself in the spray.

We made a plan on how to get into the party without being caught. We then figured out when and where we'd set of our firecrackers. Despite Brooke being over enthusiastic about the whole thing, I couldn't help but feel a little anxious. Especially since we couldn't use our wolf bodies.

We snuck into the mansion grounds and slowly made our way to the back without being detected by the guards. Being around so many vampires made me feel nauseous and I started to regret leaving my room. We hid behind a bush and waited awhile for the party to pick up.

*Amara P.O.V*

"Did it hurt when you fell from heaven?" Some dick vampire asked me.

"Your existence annoys me." I said bluntly then left him standing there like an idiot.

I hate our species. I never asked to be like this, but I didn't get a choice. It doesn't help the fact that every Vamp and their bat wants to get with me.

They only want me because they think it will get them power. Why do I have to be a council members daughter?

I was brought out of my thoughts when I caught a faint sent. The sent of dog - werewolf to be more specific. I looked out the window and noticed three shadows walking past. 'Interesting.'

The party hadn't really started yet, so I was able to get away easy. When I had walked outside, I noticed the intruders sneak behind a bush. 'Really? You couldn't do anything more original?' I thought as I rolled my eyes.

Using my speed, I got behind them and noticed they had firecrackers.

"What are you doing?" I asked. All three of them freaked out and, honestly, it was hilarious. I could hear their hearts speeding as they all looked worriedly at each other.

"Wh-how-uh" I rolled my eyes as they stuttered.

"How did I find you?" I asked with my brows raised.

"Well your little trick might work on the less superior, but not on me." They continued to just stare at me like idiots. 'Well I guess I'm gonna have to dumb it down for them.'
"Me vampire. You werewo-"
"Hey hey hey! Okay we get it." Said one of them waving their hands at me.

"So are you gonna bleed us or what?"
"Brooke! Are you serious?" I smirked as 'Brooke's' friends punched her, but it didn't last long, they ended up looking at me worriedly.
I rolled my eyes. Again.

"Fortunately for you, I'm on a strictly wolf free diet." The one they call Brooke laughed but her friends just frowned at her.
"Anyway; what are you planning on doing with those firecrackers?" Again two of them stuttered but Brooke spoke up and told me their whole plan. Which was literally to just set off the firecrackers and throw them at people. Not bad I guess.

"Brooke!" Her friends yelled at her but I shushed them.

"Calm down, I'd rather throw firecrackers at these pretentious pricks than talk to them anyway." All three of them gawked at me then Brooke bounced and clapped her hands "Yay!" I think by this time her friends gave up trying to control her - I like this gal.

*Rory P.O.V*
We waited until the party picked up and and half the vamps were standing outside. Brooke had an evil look in her eye as she handed out the firecrackers and some matches. "Now remember people, first wait for the ones on the ground to go off, then throw them at their heads!" Brooke grinned.

Slowly we rolled the first ones out unnoticed and waited. I couldn't wait to see these stupid vampires running around like frightened hamsters. There was an enormous bang followed by scattered screams and vamps running away from the bang.

None of us could keep our cool. As soon as we saw those blood sucking vermin scatter we burst out laughing. I don't think any of us have laughed harder in our lives.
But our joy didn't last long....
