Chapter 9 - First Jasper, Now Poppy

They searched and searched until night fell. But instead of actually looking for Jasper, Branch and Creek kept fighting. Poppy was really angry at them. What was the point of them being here if they're just going to fight. "At least I kept warning everyone about being eaten!" Branch yelled to Creek. "At least I wasn't mean to everyone for 20 years!" Creek argued. Poppy was getting really angry. "Well At least I.... I.... (Inhale) I DIDN'T SELL EVERYONE I LOVE OUT JUST TO SAVE MYSELF." Branch yelled to creek. "ENOUGH! BOTH OF YOU!" Poppy yelled at the top of her lungs. 'WHAT IS THE POINT OF ME ASKING FOR HELP IF YOU GUYS ARE JUST GOING TO FIGHT?!" She continued. "He's a coward!" Branch replied. "YOU KNOW WHAT?! I'M JUST GOING TO FIND JASPER BY MYSELF. BRANCH, LEARN TO HAVE SOME CONSIDERATION. I KNOW HE SOLD US OUT BUT HE MADE A MISTAKE. AND CREEK! STOP ARGUING WITH HIM. IF HE'S ANNOYING YOU, JUST TELL ME OR IGNORE HIM. GOSH I CAN'T BELIEVE I'M TALKING TO YOU GUYS LIKE Y'ALL ARE TODDLERS!" She yelled in frustration walking off. Branch and Creek stared at each other. "THIS IS YOUR FAULT!" They both said to each other in sync. "SHUT UP!" They heard Poppy call from a distance. Branch sighed before walking off. Creek followed. They completely lost Poppy. They had no idea where she went. "That's just great. Now I've lost my son AND. My wife! Thanks Creek! Thank you so much!" Branch snapped at Creek. "Me?! You were the one going on and on about how I'm a coward!" Creek replied. Branch didn't respond. He just kept walking. Poppy was walking all alone in the dark woods. "Stupid Branch. Creek made a mistake and apologized. Why can't you just forgive and forget? I can find Jasper by myself." She said to herself in anger. She then noticed the eeriness of the forest. She gulped and started walking even further. This was for Jasper. Her baby. As she walked, she heard a big noise. like a thud. Almost as if there was a Bergen coming right at her. She gulped again in fear. "B-Branch?" She called in fear. Another thud came. "Creek?" She asked again in a fearful voice. "J-Jasper?" She called in a really shaky voice. Little did she know that it was someone much worse than any of those. It was Chef. Chef ran up and picked up the troll as fast as she could. Poppy shrieked in fear as loud as she could. "LET ME GO! PLEASE!" She begged but Chef knocked her out by flicking her head really hard. Branch and Creek who were walking not too far away heard Poppy's screams. "That's Poppy. I've known her longer than you and I know that's her. Come on." Creek said before running towards where the sound came from. Branch ran after Creek. And when they got to an opening in the forest and to their shock, saw Poppy's footprints stop and massive footprints continue where her's stopped. It was quite obvious. Whoever's footprint's they were, they had taken Poppy. "Who's footprints are those?" Branch asked. "How would I know?" Creek replied. Branch sighed before the 2 followed the footprints which seemed to go on forever. Until, they saw the footprints lead into a small cabin or hut-like structure. Creek and Branch looked at each other in confusion and went around back to plan what to do.
