The New Girl

Chapter 2

I woke up in the middle of the night, screaming. I walked downstairs to find my mom sleeping on the couch with the T.V on. I turned it off. I went to the kitchen and got a glass of water. I checked the time. It was 5:34. I had to get up in a half hour.

So I went up to my room and got on my phone. I was scrolling through some old photos and before I knew it my alarm went off.

So I started to get ready for school. I took a shower and put on some decent clothes. For my hair, I just put my hair into a bun. I really didn't care how I looked today.

When I arrived at school, I went straight to my locker and got my stuff for my first period, Science.

I walked in and everyone just stared. I felt weird not knowing anyone there. So, I sat down by myself, at an empty lab table. After about a minute or two class started.

I went to "dreamland". Without knowing, the teacher dropped a big old textbook in front of me. Startled, I jumped and everyone started to laugh at me. Soon enough, the bell rang, storming out of the class. I grabbed my materials and left.

In the second period, English, there was only one seat next to a girl that no one liked. I never really knew why. So I sat. Soon enough I figured it out. All she does is talk. Instead of getting herself in trouble, she blamed it on me. Me! Of course. I'm the easiest to get blamed on! Since I'm the new girl and all.

But the teacher knew better and she got in trouble not me. She deserved it.

After that, I had my free period. So, I went to the school library. I grabbed my book The Best Bad Luck I Ever Had. In the library there was the librarian's, a girl, and a boy.

I sat down on the couch and started to read. The book was really good. I started to think about how life was in the 1917s and I look up and see the girl that was in there already.

"Hi", she said.

"Hi?", I said.

She held out her hand for me to shake, so I did. Didn't want to be mean or anything.

"I'm Sapphire", she said.

"Hi, I'm Courtney", I said.

"Nice to meet you, Courtney!", she said it with so much enthusiasm.

"Nice to meet you too, Sapphire" I was already in a bad mood so I didn't care how I sounded.

"Well, since you are the new girl and all, I'm here if you need anything", She said.

I mean I should try to be a little bit nicer since she is being very nice to me.

"Well, actually.." I started to say.

"Hey! Sapphire!" Some guy I don't know said.

"Oh, hey Kaiden!" Sapphire said.

Then she didn't talk to me for a minute or two. So I started to read my book once again. I was so into my book it took me a minute to realize they were talking to me once again.

"Courtney!" Said Sapphire.

"Huh, oh, sorry I was reading my book," I said

"This is Kaiden, Courtney," Sapphire said.

"Hi, like Sapphire said, I'm Kaiden," He said.

"Hi, Kaiden," I said.

He was tall and I'm guessing popular. He had Black hair, with shining blue eyes. Medium size lips. Looks like he needs a haircut. Not much. Maybe 2 centimeters or something like that.  But he is buff. But not to buff where it looks bad. Probably on the football or basketball team. Maybe even hockey. But one thing is for sure. He's hot.

There was this awkward silence. So I said something.

"Well, it was nice to meet both of you," I said with a cheerful voice.

"You too, Courtney," they both said.

The only thing that came to mind at that moment. I wonder if they are dating. I mean it looks like they are. They would look cute together. And right at that exact moment. The bell rang. I looked at my schedule. And my next class was upstairs. The third floor. So I went to my locker grabbed my stuff and headed upstairs.

I was late. Like always. I walked in told the teacher who I was and he told me to go sit by someone. So I sat by the only person I knew in there so far. And the only person who had a seat open next to them. Kaiden. I put my stuff next to me on the floor. Got my pencil and notebook out.

"Hey" He whispered.

I waved my hand. I went back to paying attention.

"He won't care if you talk if you talk in a whisper." He whispered.

"Oh," I whispered.

He laughed a tiny chuckle.

"So let me guess, you sat next to me because you like me?" He whispered.

"No, I sat here because this was the only seat open. And also I don't even know you that well. I actually don't know anyone here well." I whispered

"Oh, sorry" He whispered

"Sorry?" I whispered back

"For assuming" He whispered

"Oh, it's ok," I said

"Shh!" Said the teacher.

Kaiden laughed.

Great. Already made a fool of myself. In front of the cutest guy in school. Most of the girls here opinion and also mine.
