Chapter XIII a friend is lost

"What has happened to Mishiro she hasn't been here for a month and usually she's here everyday you guys are." Makail said slightly worried. It had been a week since her last email and no contact of any sort had been received from her since.

"I'm going to go to her house and fill you in on what I find." Ruby said running out of the room.

"I really hope she's okay." Makail commented.

"She's been her since the start right?" Sans asked.

"She has, everyone else besides Garrison and Mishiro is either dead or at a better job."

"I see, it must suck being stuck and seeing people just leave." Sans commented.

"Of course it does! Why wouldn't it, unless you had no soul then of course it wouldn't suck." Makail replied. And knowing your friends are stuck in a separate place makes this even worse.

"I do agree on you on that statement." Sans said looking off to space almost completely in thought. Some time passed until Ruby came back her face having a sad and terrified expression on her face.

"What is it Ruby?" Sans asked seeing her expression.

"She- she- she- she." Ruby repeated unable to get past the first word.

"Take your time to explain." Sans said putting his hands on her shoulders trying to calm her down.

"Thank you, it was just so horrible to see what she had done, or attempted to do." Ruby said still not saying what had happened.

"Where is she currently?" Makail asked worry creeping into his voice.

"She's at the hospital, she might be in a coma." Ruby explained.

"Oh, at least there's nothing worse than that." Makail commented trying to be positive.

"She attempted to hang herself but the ceiling broke just seconds after she tried to." Ruby explained proving Makail wrong.

"Oh, I see." Makail said and for years those would be his last words.

"Did you see it yourself?" Sans asked.

"Yes, I did but she had been there for a half an hour." Ruby explained.

"Does Layton know?" Sans asked.

"No not yet, i'll let him know that once he comes in."

"Tell me what? And where is Mishiro still?" Layton asked.

"She's at the hospital in a coma." Sans answered. I got this Ruby it's going to probably be harder to say a second time.

"Thank you." Ruby answered.

"What happened to her why is she at the hospital?" Layton asked.

"She attempted her hang herself but she failed and was found on the floor by Ruby."

"How long had she been there?" Layton asked not out of curiosity but out of worry for a friend.

"She had been on the ground for a half an hour when ruby found her." Sans replied.

"How does she know?" Layton asked.

Sans looked at ruby not knowing the answer a slight plead in his eyes. "The note she wrote said sorry and other things that someone in her mental condition would but at the end she put a date and time when she would do it, she seemed to almost be planning on failing and planning on being found." Ruby answered calmly.
