Long ago, when I first came to Old Narnia, my siblings Peter, Susan, Edmund, and I ruled at Cair Paravel, the castle on the edge of the Eastern sea. We were just children, and we had lovely times. I remember one such morning...

"Lucy, come and sing with me," Susan begged one June morning. "I've finished a new song about the castle garden."
I laughed. Summer is the best time to sing, I thought. Susan was always so eager to do it. "All right," I answered, still with a smile on my face. Will you play the piano to go along with it?"
"Of course, little sister. Let's go!" We ran into the little sunroom in the castle to try the new song.

Susan and I always loved to sing together. She was an amazing composer and pianist. Her songs were truly magical. Susan could bring joy or grief, excitement or anger with her songs. Narnia was an amazing place for music and Susan and I promised each other we would never forget it.
Susan didn't keep that promise.
When we all left Narnia and returned to England, we were told we might come back. So we did, several times. Right before my last trip to Old Narnia, Susan was given the chance to go to America with my mother and father. She never wanted to come back.
Unwillingly, Susan returned home with our parents, but as soon as she finished school, she returned to the United States. Her letters to me detailed fancy parties, luxurious hotels, and clothes fit for royalty. I mentioned in one of my replies that Narnian clothes are so comfortable, even if they are fancy and beautiful. Susan's next letter ignored my comment.
Alarmingly, her letters became shorter and shorter. Finally, they stopped. I cried bitterly and wrote to Susan, pleading for responses. But they never came. The last thing I heard from her was that she had gotten a job as a singer for a radio station.
A few weeks later, I was called back to Narnia with my older brothers, Peter and Edmund. Narnia was renewed, and we ruled at Cair Paravel once more. Peter married a lovely Dryad named Ivy, and Edmund met Aquena, a beautiful Naiad. We all lived happily in Cair Paravel - for a year.
