You walk down the corridor of the USS Enterprise and walk to the entrance of the Bridge.

"Permission to enter the Bridge?" You ask.

"Granted Ms. Y/L/N." Kirk nodded in your direction before spinning back in his chair.

You walk over to a desk area behind the captain's chair and hand a PADD to the specific Vulcan who was expecting you.

"There you are, Mr. Spock. Scotty's coordinate information on his portable warp equation."

"Thank you, Lieutenant." Spock nods to you, turning with a tiny, grateful smile on his face.

Your hands momentarily touch when you pass him Scotty's equation but you made no motion of it. Spock on the other hand, did. He didn't flinch or anything, but the fact that he suddenly froze in place at your touch slightly startled you. You realized that it was probably a Vulcan thing and you waved it away, turning around and walking back out.

You were scanning the cargo the Enterprise was holding on deck for the moment until another shipment came by. You scanned for radioactive signatures to make sure it didn't end up like those torpedoes. You also made sure the cargo won't blow up the warp core, because that almost got you killed last time. You were in Med Bay for six weeks after that. You finished the retinal scan and tap it down in the database, turning around to meet eyes with a dark shade of brown orbs.

"Ah, Mr. Spock," You smiled before turning to the tiny screen in front of you, "May I help you?"

"Lieutenant, I am afraid I am going to need more data on Mr. Scott's equation. The coordinates are inconclusive, so if you can get me those right away that would greatly appreciated," He said as he held the PADD clipboard you had given him before.

"Of course." You nod with a tiny smile as you reach for the PADD. When you did, you fingers, again, momentarily touch his and this time, you noted how stiff Spock stood at that. You take the clipboard and nod in his direction. He turns to leave and the awkwardness of the remaining surge where his fingers touch yours momentarily stays.

That night, you lay wide awake in your sleeping quarters. You didn't share it with anyone so you didn't worry about waking anybody when you shot out of bed and started walking out. You walk down the hallways of the Enterprise and searched anxiously. You needed to see him. You wanted to confront him about earlier and why he was stiff each time you accidentally touch fingers. You didn't want him to hate you or anything so you wanted to get this matter over with. You knew he didn't sleep much. He once told you that Vulcans can be perfectly healthy even after 5 days without sleep and they would never be tired. You don't know why he told you that. You two were in the science lab alone at the time and the conversation struck up, I guess. You two were considered friends, but you rarely see each other to say otherwise. You took the elevator upstairs to the observation deck, where you knew that was the most logical place where that observant Vulcan would go. The observation deck was beautiful, it was one of your favorite places. It had an open up skyline so the ceiling was pure glass, with a protective surface, of course. And outside you could see stars, planets, super novas, nebulas, you name it. You never figured a cold Vulcan really would appreciate the beauty, but you figured he would've gone there. The elevator opens and you walk in, immediately seeing the straight posture facing the direction away from you, his eyes glances up at the stars and hands respectively behind his back. You clear your throat and he instantly turns.

"Lieutenant Y/L/N. I did not see you there. You should go back to bed. The Enterprise has a very busy day tomorrow."

You change the subject and walk forward, "Actually, I need to ask you a question, sir."

"Very well."

"Uh..." You stutter as you nervously start to play with your hands. "It's about earlier, Commander. I accidentally touched your hand and you immediately froze. I don't mean to sound blunt about it, but I didn't know if my presence bothered you or I am just mistaken."

Spock stood quiet for a moment. He had his hands behind his back and his straight posture was turned towards you. He let out this quiet sigh as he turned his gaze to the atmosphere outside, his hands moving to his side.

"I assume you do not know."

"Know what?" You ask more kindly.

"On planet Vulcan," he informed, "My people would affectionately touch fingertips to show their sentiment towards one another. It has the same purpose, as what your planet Earth calls 'Human Kisses'. My apologies, Lieutenant. I had thought about my planet each time your hand touched mine, and I am aware I have been rather rude about it, and for that I am sorry. But yes, touching fingertips is a sign of affection on planet Vulcan."

You nod, even though he wasn't looking at you to see it. You were a bit nervous, but you hesitantly move forward and reach your hand out. Your fingers touch Spock's hand and he immediately turns towards you, slightly stunned by the movement.

Your hand brings his own up to your faces to see. You notice his larger fingers don't make any movements as your small ones gently travel over his palm, feeling his pale, cold skin.

"Like this?" You whisper.

He stares at you confusingly, and you refuse to meet his gaze. His fingers don't move a muscle. He froze like this for some time, and you felt slightly rejected.

Then...you are surprised when his fingers slowly, hesitantly react as they slowly entwine with yours. Both of you lace your fingers together as Spock nervously feels your warm skin against his. He felt awkward, because he never done something like this before, and he was afraid he would screw up. His chest fluttered, a feeling he never realized until your finger tips touched. He looked down to you again, realizing these mysterious feelings were recognized every time he was with you. He hadn't noticed it for the time he's known you until now. The very tips of his pointy ears were tinted green, a sign that he was blushing, making you smile brightly. He opened his mouth a bit to speak when he glances back down at your entwined fingers, a little frightened his voice would betray him.

"Exactly like this."

It was your turn to blush, but your cheeks burned red unlike Spock. You looked up to meet his gaze to finally notice that he had a small smile on his lips, making you smile right back. Your fingers were secured tightly together and Spock was the next one to speak again.

"Y/N...may I show you affection in human terms?"

"You don't need to ask, Spock," you said gently as you stood on your tip toes, reaching the height you want even though you were still shorter than the tall Vulcan.

Spock hesitated as he looked down at you before he tilted his head, leaning down and meeting his lips with yours. You close your eyes and you slowly kiss back. Spock closed his eyes too, as his free hand slowly found your waist, bringing you closer to him. His hand slightly shook in fright that he might hurt you and his lips continued to melt perfectly with yours. His lips were soft and passionate, something like this feeling so alien to him.

But he wasn't alien to you. He was the love of your life as of right now.
