"Five minutes! Get to class!" It was five to eight and the vice principal, Mrs. Vervort, was making her way through the commons attempting to get the students to rush to class. I threw away my wrapper and hurried to Psychology.
Mr. Erickson was waiting outside his classroom to make sure no late-comers came in unnoticed. "Morning, Piper."
"Morning, sir." I said with a smile. I was in an unbelievably good mood today. Plumping onto my seat, I saw Michael drawing in his notebook. His attention was completely consumed. "Michael." I didn't receive an answer so I tapped on his shoulder. His head flicked up and a laidback smile appeared on his face.
"Hey." He continued to draw, but gave me a little more focus.
"If you still want to come over, it's all right." I tried to take a closer look at his drawing, but he closed his notebook when he saw me peeking at it.
"Yeah, definitely."
"Well, why don't you meet me in the parking lot. I can drive us. I know it's kind of far out, being in the country side, but I can take you home afterwards as well if you'd like."
"I'll be there after eighth period." He leaned back in his chair. "And thanks. My parents don't want to be anywhere near your house." He chuckled.
A few giggles escaped passed my lips. "I can see why. I finally figured out why everyone was so freaked out. You don't think people were actually murdered there?"
It took him a moment to decide his final answer. "I don't know, but everyone else seems to. What about you? You're the one living there." He pointed out.
"I don't neccessarily think so. It wouldn't have been on the market if it did." That was quite a valid thought if you think about it. He nodded his head, understanding.
The bell rang and Mr. Erickson came into the class, closing the door behind him. "Okay, let's get started." He took his place behind the podium. "First, I have a story to tell you, though. So you all know my children, Charlotte and Gavin?" I can't count all the stories he's told us about his kids in these few weeks I've had him as a teacher. Apparently he's a bore in his Civics class, but in here he is so animated. He went on telling us a potty training story about his youngest, Gavin. Let's just say it wasn't a great experience.

Come lunch time, I spent it with the group of guys. I was no longer sitting by myself. Some girls and even a few guys gave us awkward stares. I'm assuming the reason was because here was a girl in a floral print shirt and white shorts sitting with a populated table of guys dressed in plaid and band attire. Michael was sporting a Nirvana shirt with the sleeves cut off and black skinny jeans.
I took a bite from my burger. "So, I was thinking. Maybe after I show you around the house, we could have a rematch. Only this time a different game. How about Mortal Kombat on the PS2?"
He took a sip of his milk but spit it back into the little cartoon because he was in a little fit of laughter. "If your willing to be humiliated by my awesomeness then sure." I rolled my eyes at his ego.
Calum started to laugh as well. "There's a reason he's so pasty white. All he does is confine himself in his room and play video games." I couldn't stop laughing at Calum's comment.
"Prepare to get your butt whooped." I challenged Michael.
"We'll see what happens." He took a bite of his fry. The rest of the lunch period consisted of Ashton and Luke having a ridiculous contest playing hacky sack and fearing that the hacky would hit me in the eye.

As soon as the final bell rang, I walked to my locker and put away my school items for the day. To my surprise, none of the teachers assigned homework. I grabbed my purse and car keys, followed by locking up the ole locker for the night. When I walked out the front doors, there Michael was. He was sitting on a bench by the parking lot waiting for me. I walked up to him. "Ready to go?" He stood up and nodded his head. We walked to my car on the far side of the parking lot and got in. After we were situated, we pulled out and drove to my house. We made small talk for the fifteen minutes it took to get home.
