She continued down the line until there were no more Jermejuvilites for her to name. Then she went on to he Lapis Lazulilies, then the Bazzites, then the Blue Quartzes, and so on... 600,980 gems in total. Those Peridots were more skilled than she thought.

After only 3 cycles of counting the Agate finally finished. Jermejuvilite was amazed at how quickly the older gems worked.

7 more Agates arrived were given the rundown of what they were dealing with. Jermejuvilite and her fellow Jermejuvilites were assigned an Agate with a blue and yellow crystal on her left shoulder. Before she could ask what was happening next her newly appointed Agate stomped on a shape on the floor and they were then lowered into the real training grounds

This chamber was loaded with all sorts of bladed weapons of both short and long range, open flames, spiked walls, rotating pedestals, and one big stage in the middle of it all.

"This will be where you will spend your next 4 decades. You will train non-stop until you have reached pinnacle clarity!" Barked the Agate. "Don't get too attached to your comrades, death could take them away as soon as they arrived." That statement made Jermejuvilite wince. But she knew the cost of being a... What was it called? Oh yes! A soldier. She was still getting used to these words.
