The Truth Hurts

The twittering of the birds, the bubbling of the stream, a plop of a jumping fish. The sounds filled Spottedkit's ears, they were so relaxing she never wanted to leave the nest and you know what, maybe I won't because no one would care if I woke up anyway she thought as she took a deep breath "Spottedkit!" She heard in the distance "Except for her." Spottedkit trilled and rolled her bright amber eyes. She stood up, her remarkably yellow pelt gleaming in the sunlight then stood up and stretched before padding to the opening of the den to be knocked off her feet by a speeding Owlkit. Spottedkit looked up into Owlkit's huge amber eyes surrounded by her fuzzy dark grey coat "I just found out something!" Owlkit mewed in a sing-song voice while swishing her tail excitedly "What is it now?" Spottedkit said sarcastically with a smirk. Owlkit helped her up " my brother Strikekit just said that he has a huge crush on you!" She said very excitedly "Well that does not matter!" Spottedkit mewed as she turned her head away to hide her refuse blushing but still failing. Owlkit looked at her funny with a huge grin on her face "Owlkit, come here!" They heard in the distance, Owlkit frowned "Ugh, that's my mom gotta go!" Owlkit squeaked before darting away. Spottedkit began to pad to the fresh-kill pile, dirty looks were given to her all around of course but she was used to it by now. She grabbed a vole out of the fresh-kill pile, turned and met Oceanstar eye to eye "How about you and I share that in my den." Oceanstar asked in a strange tone of voice "Okaaay." Spottedkit said in a suspicious voice with a puzzled look on her face what's going on here? She thought as they padded towards the den. She ducked under the vines that led to Oceanstar's den. Spottedkit sat down and wrapped her Spotted tail around her neatly and let Oceanstar take the first bite of the mouse "I'm going to have to be blunt with you Spottedkit." Oceanstar said with a sigh "That's okay I can handle it." Spottedkit assured her. Oceanstar took a deep breath "You're not a Riverclan cat, not even half you are a pure blood Windclan cat." She blurted "wh' what do mean I'm not a Riverclan cat m'my mother is Lightwing." Spottedkit asked in a very concerned tone stuttering on a few of the words "No, you're mother is Mintfur of Windclan and you're father is Tigerflame. Your mother had to give you up when you were very young, your mom was afraid that your father would try to kill you so she gave you to me, to keep you safe but you needed to know this before you became an apprentice. I'm sorry." Spottedkit stood in shock, a million thoughts flooded her mind. She started backing away and shaking her head, fear in her eyes, then she bolted for the Windclan border.
