Rescuing a fifteen year-old girl from her kidnapper, which is probably some middle-aged pervert, sounds pretty fun. But who knows what that guy is doing to her? He could be treating her like a servant or some type of sex slave or something.
“Fifty bucks says we finish this assignment in two weeks.”
“Get real! If she’s been missing for three months, I doubt we’ll find her in two weeks.”
Charay, if you don’t think we can, then accept the bet,” Ginger says laughing.
“Just get in the car!” Charay glared at Ginger as they arrived at the vehicle they would be using during the assignment.
“Whoa, nice ride! It’s waaay better than what we had on that last assignment,” I mention to them sarcastically, looking at the sad excuse for a vehicle in front of me.
The 1997 Chevy truck is missing a bumper, one taillight, and one the side mirrors. It’s completely rusted aside from a small spot, the size of an apple, on the driver’s door. According to the spot the truck used to be a dark red color.
“Oh, come on! Why do we have to ride in this hunk of junk?” I shout.
“Don’t be such a child. If we’re staying in the Red Village, we can’t look like we can afford better.”
“Ginger’s right, Rehdd, a nicer car might blow our cover.”
“Well it better have a good sound system,” I grumble, while climbing into the passenger seat.
“Cherry, I think you’d better drive, cause I’ll go mad listening to his music.”
Charay climbed into the driver’s seat, found the keys in the ignition and started the truck while Ginger hopped into the bed of the pick-up, and I turned the radio to my station and turned up the volume.
“Ginger, do the details of our assignment tell us where we’re staying?” Charay asked through the window.
Nodding, Ginger tells Charay the address and we start down the road to the Red Village.
