Bright white lights. All I see when I open my eyes. And it scares me. What happened? Where am I? How'd I get here? Who brought me? Why- ow. My head throbs in pain. I lift my hand and brush my forehead with my fingertips. I sit up, and everything becomes clear. I'm in a hospital. Again. I look around me and see that I'm fine. I hear the door open, and my head jolts up. I remember my headache and wince a little at the pain. It's a man. Very muscular and attractive man. He wears a plaid shirt with a leather jacket over, and khaki pants. His hair is short and dirty blonde. His eyes sparkle with blue, and don't even get me started on his amazing smile. And his jaw st- WAIT! What am I saying? That's Steve, I can't be falling for him, can I? "How are you feeling?" Even his voice is amazing! No, stop this nonsense! I am not falling for Steve Rogers. 'AM NOT'. "I- I'm doing, um" wait why am I stuttering? I take a deep breath, "I'm doing fine, thank you." He smiles, again. The door opens again, and Natasha walks in. She smiles her warm smile, "hey," she sits down next to Steve. "When can I leave?" I really want to leave, it's cold, and I'm tired, and these beds are hard as a rock. It's really quite uncomfortable. "The doc said if your ok then maybe tomorrow-" I scoff cutting off Steve. "No way! I'm not staying here another day!" I get up and try to walk, but Steve grabs my shoulders, and I immediately started to get goosebumps. "You can't go, you need to rest and get better." They finally convinced me so I stayed the next day.

I woke up after a long night. It truly sucked. It was colder than usual, and they changed my bed which I'm pretty sure was metal. They left the lights on, that were way to bright, and the late night nurses, which got drunk, we're making a lot of noise. I saw Steve walk in, and he looked as tired as me. He had on a grey muscle tee and a pair of baggy khakis. His shoes were dark but still casual. "Come on, princess, your carriage awaits." He said in a sarcastic, sleepy, voice. I raised my eyebrows and followed him out the door. I managed to get my clothes back, so I felt a little better. We walked out of the hospital, and over to his... Motorcycle? "I am not getting on that thing." I state. "Oh come on, it's not that bad." He persuaded me that I'll be safe on it so I got on. We drive to SHIELD and park. "Fury wanted to see you, when you got back." I nod my head, and walk through the double doors. I make my way to the elevators, which already have some people inside. We go up and two floors later more people get on. The others make small talk, but most stare out the window, clutching their weapons. Something seems strange. We go up two more floors and everything gets quiet. The elevator jolts to a stop and everyone turns to me. "We should get this over with quickly." He smirks a little. "Just let us and we'll be on our way." I look around as my heart beats faster. "What are you going to do to me?" I just got out of the hospital and now they want to hurt me? The guy that was talking before pulls out a gun, "oh not much really, just," he points the gun to my head, "hurt you that's all." I grab the gun and pull it behind me, making him jolt forward, and hit him in the face. I take down a few others and make my way to the other side of the elevator. I push the up button and the elevator starts to move again. As I turn I am pinned down to the wall. I struggle out of their grip, but whoever it is, their stronger than me. The elevator dings, and the doors slide open. With the corner of my eye I see Steve, throwing punches. I manage to get the guy off me, and knock him out. I start to regain my normal breathing. "What happened?" Steve asks sternly. "Do you expect me to know? I just got out of the hospital, and went to go see Fury when all these people got in and started to attack me!" I explain. I turn my head to the right, and look out the window. "Your hurt." I look at Steve then down at my shoulder. I see that somebody shot me during the whole 'attack' experience. "It's fine." He walks towards me and lightly touches my shoulder. I wince at the pain. He digs his fingers into my skin and pulls out the bullet. I tense up and wince harder this time. The elevator dings, and me and Steve both get out. This 'talk' I'm going to have with Fury, better be a talk worth talking.

I open the door to Fury's meeting room. "You wanted to talk with me." I state. He looks out the window. "Yeah, I did." I step closer to him. "About what?" I take a seat in one of the plush, leather chairs in front of his desk. "Do you know what happened?" In thinking that he's talking about two nights ago. "Um no; no I don't." Well I know some of what happened. "Watch this." He pushes a button on his desk and a hologram pops up. It's video footage of that night. I don't see a lot, just shadows, Steve, Natasha, and me in the box. I saw how they got me out and how they got the people who trapped me. I also saw how I got in the hospital, and where their hideout was. "Thank you." I speak up after the footage is over. I stand up and begin to walk out the door, when I hear Fury's voice. "I want you to meet someone." I stop abruptly. "Who?" I ask turning on my heal. "You'll meet him tonight at 5:00 in this room." He says shutting off the hologram. "Don't be late." He warns. I smirk, "wouldn't dream of it!" I walk out the door, but decide to take the stairs instead of the elevator. I enter my room and look all around. Bucky is now where. "Bucky?" I start to worry. Where could he have gone? I told him to stay in here. I've been gone for only two days, could he have gone back to the apartment?

I walk around SHIELD looking everywhere for Bucky. I run into a hard force, and jolt my head up quickly. "Sorry I wasn't-" I get cut off when I see Steve. "Paying attention." I mumble. He smiles and laughs a little, "it's ok. What are you looking for?" I can't tell him I'm looking for a criminal I snuck in. So I lie. "Somebody." I had to think of who. But who could I look for? "And who's that somebody?" He just won't stop with the questions. Out of the corner of my eye I see Bucky. I jolt my head to the right. But Bucky's not there. "I have to go Steve, I'll see you later." I take off towards where I saw Bucky. I still can't find him. I feel two arms snake around my waist. I turn around see Bucky. "Hey there." He slurs. Great. The worlds most wanted criminal is drunk and in the top agency. "What did you do?!" I whisper/yell at him. "Nothing you." He smiles. "I'm taking you back to the apartment!" I grab his arms, and try to pry them off. His grip gets tighter and pulls me close. "Where do you think your going?" He starts to lean in. "Bucky your drunk! Let me go!" I start to hit him, I don't know why I can't hurt him. He's my friend, but I chose a different side. Just hit him! I can't find the confidence. Suddenly Bucky gets knocked out. He slumps to the floor, and passes out. I look up and see Steve. I walk towards him. "What was that for?" I ask him sternly. "I mean I could've handled it!" I don't want nor need his help. "You obviously needed help!" He points to Bucky's body on the floor. I feel anger boil inside of me. "You could've just minded your own business, and let me do my job!" He raises his eyebrows, "oh I'm sorry I didn't know that your job was to make out with criminals!" "What is your problem?" I don't see how he could be mad. "Why are you so protective? Why are trying to keep me sa-" before I could finish, I felt his lips on mine, and his arms around my waist. I snaked my arms around his neck. I pulled back and so did he. I just stared at him for a moment, shocked. He kissed me, he actually kissed me. "Steve-" "don't," he shakes his head, "don't say anything." I realized my hands where still around his neck, and his arms around my waist. "I was going to ask if you could help me take Bucky back to his apartment." I look at him with pleading eyes. "Why can't you do it yourself?" He asks me. I smirk a little, "you think I could carry 150 pounds of flesh, 2 blocks away? And that's without the metal arm." He begins to laugh lightly. "Fine I'll help." He grabs Bucky's body and throws it over his shoulder.

We walk back to his apartment and push the up button on the wall. We wait in silence as the elevator creaks it's way down. When we hear the ding, we approach the doors. As the doors slide open, we get in. The elevator is empty, so we have room to fit all three of us. When the doors open, I walk out first and lead Steve to the apartment door. As I unlock it I hear Bucky groan. I open the door, and turn on the lights. Steve lays Bucky on the couch. "Wow he is heavier than I remember." He huffs. I laugh a little. "He has a metal arm that's probably why." I look at Bucky a while. "He'll be fine." I feel Steve's hands around my waist. I turn and hug him around his waist. His hand slide up to my shoulders. "I know, its just," I sigh, "I just don't want him to get hurt." I close my eyes and let myself relax. I feel Steve kiss the top of my head. "He won't get hurt. Don't worry." Those words have been used too much lately, and I'm still worrying. "I'll try." I whisper back. I let go of him and look into his eyes. I smile lightly, and turn around to see Bucky for the last time before I leave again. "Let's go." I take Steve's hand and walk out the door, leaving Bucky on the couch.
