"Hey Delaney! You're interested in academic decathlon, right? I can walk you there."
"Yeah sure. Thanks Liz." Even though Liz was helping out Delaney she knew it was only because she was new. It happens all of the time so she really didn't get hurt by it. They come to the class and she parts ways with her because Liz has to go to her locker. - Acadec meeting
Delaney sits with MJ as they wait for everyone else to enter the room. Soon Ned walks in with a few kids and so does Liz. Two weeks is their trip to Washington DC and they wanted to start preparing. She spots the teacher and they begin to chat. She hopes she can join the team.
"Alright guys this is Delaney and she's new to school. She wants to possibly join the club. Do you wanna give it a go?"
She nods. "Uh, Yeah. Sure." -

The other members were stunned. She was great, maybe even better than Peter or Flash. Speaking of, they both had her eyes on her.
"Uagh y-yeah, you're in" Liz says. "I second that," Peter mumbles. His eyes wide and full of admiration. "We do have another spot open so... congratulations Delaney, you made the academic decathlon team!"
She gasps, full of surprise and goes to shake everyone's hands at the end. She shakes Cindy, Charles, Betty, and Abe's hands before another kid name Flash shakes hers, winks, and purposely knocks his shoulder into Peter on his way out. Weird.
"Hey what was that with Flash?" Peter rubs his shoulder as Ned answers. "He's the most popular kid in school but he bullies me and especially Peter. You alright Peter?" He nods and grabs his bag. He seems really out of it, so Delaney walks over to him.
"Hey since it's officially the weekend, do you want to go to the movies? You too Ned. You wanna come?" They both nod and Ned walks in front as Delaney asks how Peter is. "I'm fine I'm just stressed...with school and Flash and stuff" Peter mumbles. Delaney slowly wraps her arm around him as they continue to chat until they reach the movies.
"What will you guys want?" "Popcorn with extra butter!" Peter and Delaney say at the same time. She could feel her cheeks heat up and turns her face away. Peter can't stop smiling and tries to cover it with the sleeve of his sweater. "You want to split one?" She nods. -
Ned Peter and Delaney find seats for The Fifth Wave. Delaney sits in the middle and chats with Ned as she plays footsie with Peter as they share their popcorn. "I knew that damn lady with the lipstick was no good." "Oop! Cassie went off on her." Ned turns to shut them up and they throw popcorn at him. As the movie goes on so does their enjoyment with one another. Delaney is really having fun with her new friends.
