"do we have all the same classes?" sungjin laughed in disbelief as he and wonpil walked into the third class they had together.

wonpil grabbed sungjin's schedule out of his hands and unfolded it. his finger slid back and forth between the two sheets of paper as he compared them. "all but two," he reported. "different math classes," he returned the paper to sungjin and sighed. "i think i'm going to at least have 17 panic attacks without you there," the two turned into their next classroom. "and that's just in a the first week. i can't do math for heck."

"you can count beats," sungjin mentioned to the pianist, trying to cheer him up.

"yeah, but most of the time i only have to count to four."

sungjin rolled his eyes, knowing his friend was going to be okay. the duo found two desks next to each other and plopped into them just as the teacher began class.

the teacher ran through all the basic first-day-of-school introduction and overview of the class.

"i do consider myself to be a strict teacher," a small groan arose from the class, "but all for good reason. i push all my students to do there best while showing them to be outstanding students and members of society."

wonpil leaned forward in his desk slightly, getting closer to sungjin's ear. "hey sungjin," he whispered.

sungjin gave him a quick nod of acknowledgment indicating that he was listening. there was a long pause and sungjin could feel wonpil's warm breath warm breath on his ear. gross. then sungjin, who became annoyed with his friends nasty breath on his skin, turned around and became face to face with him. wonpil took a breath as he stared sungjin in the eyes. "we live in a society."

sungjin turned around and put his face in his hands. dear god, may i please strangle him, sungjin pleaded as the teacher cleared his throat.

"now let's run through some classroom rules," he said pacing toward the front of the room again. "rule one, the most basic rule: no talking," he stated firmly. "if you want to speak, you raise your hand. it very simp-."

the classroom door slid open.

a girl walked in. she had dark hair and an over-sized hoodie on. in fact, the hoodie was so large that it fell down to her mid thigh, only allowing the bottom of her skirt visible. she had dark eyes, which matched her dark hair. her looks where pretty generic but what set her apart was her skin. it was perfectly tanned as if the sun bestowed a warm, loving kiss upon her or if god himself honey glazed her and put her in the oven to bake.

"sorry, i'm late!" her words seemed rehearsed yet frantic. "i'm new to the school and i got lost trying to find your class, sorry."

the teacher glanced at her and sighed. "alright, you only missed a few minutes. take a seat."

she took a seat next to sungjin and he gave her a gave her small smile.

"that brings me to rule two," the teacher began to speak again, "never be late to or absent from my class." he continued to pace around the room, clearly projecting his voice, "every missed moment in my class is a missed opportunity to educate and enlighten yourself, so always be here and on time."

the teacher continued on with his spiel until the end of the class, and people started to hang their bags back around their shoulders and stand up again. he told the students that they may leave when the bell rings, but didn't fail to remind them that it wouldn't happen everyday and that he dismissed the class not the bell.

"this guy is gonna be a lot of fun," wonpil commented as he stood up.

a few minutes later the bell rang and the students started to file out of the classroom heading towards the cafeteria. sungjin pulled his bag over his shoulder as he and wonpil began to leave the room. they were almost through the door when the girls voice shot up from behind them,

"excuse me," she cleared her voice gaining their attention.

"i wanted to find my next class before lunch," she spoke in slightly broken korean. "can one of you help me so i don't spend the whole entire break looking for it?"

sungjin and wonpil quickly shared a glance.

"please.." the girl begged looking like a scared puppy.

sungjin, feeling bad for her, agreed. "what class do you have next?"

the girl squinted at her schedule as she brought it slightly closer to her face. "math with miss... chwe?"

sungjin gently took the paper from her hands, which she did not mind at all, and saw her next class. "yup, math with ms. chwe," sungjin confirmed. "i have her next, too."

from her broken speaking to her struggle to read, sungjin could tell that she was a foreigner, even though she looked korean. he took another quick glance at wonpil and built up a little bit of courage.

"if you want, you can sit with us at lunch and i can show you the way there afterwards." sungjin watched as the girl's expression shifted. "i-if you want to!" sungjin clarified himself.

the girl thought about it for a moment. she didn't want to intrude, but she also didn't want to be the loser who sat alone. to be completely honest, she was a little scared to say yes, but he was simply so nice she could't say no, "sure," she replied. "that would be great."

the newly made trio then headed headed out to the courtyard where they decided to eat. as they walked out of the hallway doors sungjin realized something,

"oh my gosh that was so rude," he said as her turned toward the girl. her eyes became wide, scared of what she had done. "i never introduced myself."

the girl's tension released when she realized he was talking about himself.

"my name is sungjin, and his name is wonpil," he gestured to the boy next to him. "what's yours?"

"eunhae."
