Trust. That was her first mistake, truthfully it was one of many but this was her first. The one to start the chain reaction of her slow spiral into something that everyone is secretly afraid of. Sage DeLacrose, normal teen, good in school, and most of all, safe. At least that's what she thought. She thought that her small apartment in Queens was a good idea. One that wouldn't blow up in her face, little did she know, the big-bang was about to take place once more. Sage knew the repercussions of her actions. She knew that her her world would be torn apart but still, she let her walls down, she built up her bridges, slowly but surely. She became surrounded by friends, she reconnected with her family. Everything was normal and it was a smooth ride. Or at least it would have been if it weren't for one little spider with a smirk that could light up ones whole world. A smile that Sage fell for. She left him swing into her life and before she knew it. She found herself untangled in his web.
I wouldn't want to give away the ending now would I? The beginning, the start of this, began, with a crash. It was only a normal yet cold and chill January Twenty-seventh, when the DeLacrose family car was driving down the hard cement rode with the radio music cranked up and the windows rolled down to their full extent as the family did not care about the cold temps tire outside. As they rolled around the corner a humongous truck was plain in sight, it wasn't before it was to late that the DeLacrose family realized it was going to crash into their small car which was holding a small and fragile six year old, Sage.
The crash began, the glass flew from the windows and the car bolted to a sudden and roaring stop. With the size of the truck they had been shaken up a fair bit. When, Sage came back from crying as any kid would do she looked to her parents. They seemed fine which was great, but then she felt it, she couldn't feel her left leg."M-Mommy!" The children wailed as she started shaking on her mothers seat which was placed in front of her. "Sweetie, d-don't move. You'll hurt yourself, Sweetie" Her mother repeated. Sage, being a smart child kept her mouth shut and started to think about something else, anything. She thought about how many days she would get off school, tried to think about how maybe, someday this could be an interesting story to tell at story time.
When the ambulance finally arrived and took the family out of the car. A sad truth was seen. David DeLacrose, Sage's father, had passed away from the crash. Sage couldn't bare it as she started to kick with her working leg and scream in mental pain. It was later that month that, Sage finally learned what happened to her leg. There had been severe nerve, bone and almost every other kind of damage in her leg. She would never have use of it again. This fact dragged down on Sage for years, through elementary she used a wheelchair. For middle school a crutch and now, as she entered high school. She would being using just a brace for her leg.
Sage spent the summer 'training' with the new leg and now she could at least go up stairs. She could walk decently fast but would never be in sports. Not that she ever wanted to. She spent that effort on her brain, she was a top student. She wasn't popular but she wasn't a social outcast. She had her own makeshift friends. Her group consisted of three people. Hailey Monroe, a girl that she had known since kindergarten, Derek Shnizer, a new boy to the school that her and Hailey had taken in after Flash started to pick on him. She had other people who were nice, Liz was always kind, A girl in her 'intro to economy' class was always one to be partners with her. Sure, people didn't invite her to parties but she was always told about the latest gossip, not saying she relatively wanted to hear it.
On this fateful first day of high school though, is where the real fun begins.
