Effects- Chapter 2

*Kyung Hoon is now 26 years old*

Kyung Hoon pushed the door open and walked out. He had yet another argument with his father over his job. This time, it was even worse.

"Don't you dare come back home if you continue to work in the streets!"

Kyung Hoon left without a second thought, his relationship with his father had plummeted for years ever since he got caught selling drugs in the black market. He almost got arrested by police as well. If his father didn't pull him into his truck, Kyung Hoon would've been in jail years ago.

Many things changed since he took the job offer from the "Pig". He had earned a decent living earning as much as he wanted. His father soon got out of debt and was able to get his shop working again. Not only that, he was able to bring his work into the city and earn enough to renovate their house. In reality, Kyung Hoon had bribed investors to invest on his father's company beforehand. That way, it wouldn't look like Kyung Hoon had earned so much money and make his father suspicious.

Now there wasn't a point to hide his earnings. He decided to place it in his room closet half-visible so his father can use it if he wanted to. Kyung Hoon had been living with his mother for the past couple of months. It was hard at first to communicate but after a few dinners, Kyung Hoon had become more comfortable with speaking to his mother. His mother was happy to speak with him as well. She also stopped gambling and learned to save up instead.

Heechul meanwhile was getting home-schooled by their mother's friend's daughter. Her name was Ji-sun. Kyung Hoon had fallen in love with her the first time he saw her. She used to go to the same school as Kyung Hoon before he dropped out of high school. It was a blessing to be able to hang out with her. They weren't close back then but ever since she started helping Heechul, they started to talk more.

When Kyung Hoon reached his mother's house, the first thing that happened was Heechul hugging him as usual.

"Kyunghoonie! I missed you so much!"

"I missed you too, hyeong."

"Ji-sun unnie is here! Come on!"

Heechul pulled Kyung Hoon inside and they headed for the living room. Kyung Hoon had used his earnings to help buy a place for his mother as well. The house was neat and tidy and had a Japanese style type of feel.

Ji-sun was sitting on floor of the living room reading a book. When Kyung Hoon walked in the room, Ji-sun looked up and smiled.

"Hi oppa."

"Ho-w a-re yo-u, Ji-sun?"

"I'm good. How are you?"

"I-m g-ood too."

Heechul giggled at Kyung Hoon, "Why are your face red?"

Kyung Hoon blushed and hid behind Heechul, if there was something he loved about him, it was that Heechul was a shield to his embarrassment.

"Kyung Hoon oppa, would you like to read this book to Heechul today?" Ji-Sun asked and handed him the book she was reading.

Kyung Hoon took the book in his hands and observed it. It was a nursery rhyme book. Heechul's face appeared when he looked up for Ji-Sun.

"Please Kyunghoonieeeeee?"

Kyung Hoon laughed, "Of course silly, you're my hyeong."

They went out to the porch and sat down. Kyung Hoon opened the book and started reading out-loud for Heechul. Ji-Sun sat behind them with a smile as Heechul was being cute.

Everyday was the same thing, it was normal and full of lively happiness. Yet, there was something unsettling about it. Kyung Hoon still didn't realize how everything was going to change soon.
