Elise

"You're grounded for a week, Elise."

"What? But -" I protest.

"No buts, Elise. You purposely punched Carter, therefore, you're grounded." Mom tells me. I groan. It was his fault, for saying that I was his girlfriend. Like, ew!

"Fine!" I snap, stomping to the third floor, where my room was located. I bury my head into my plush pillows. This was so unfair! I hate Carter, and I hate Magcon! If Carter's this rude, I bet the rest of the boys are stuck-up, and arrogant too. What do these girls see in them?

Knock knock

I lift my head from my pillow. What was that?

Knock knock

I shrug. Probably something unimportant. Soon, the knocking got louder and quicker. I noticed that it was coming from my French windows. I walk over to them, and see Carter on the other side, smirking.

I open my windows. "What the hell you you want?" I snap, obviously annoyed.

Carter shrugs. "Dunno. I was just bored."

"Well, stop annoying me." I say, and close my windows.

"Hey!" Carter's muffled voice says from behind my window. I open the window again.

"What?" I snap.

"Sorry for, you know, calling you my girlfriend in front of all of those girls," He says apologetically. Wow, he looks pretty genuine. "But your reaction was priceless, ha!"

He starts laughing maniacally. I glare at him. "It's not funny! Because of you, I'm grounded!"

He snickers. "You're welcome." He says with a grin. I glare at him again before shutting my windows. Ugh, seriously? His room just has to be right beside mine. Yep, everyone wants me to suffer.

What should I do? Mom took away my phone. Hey, she's leaving for work right now! I'll just sneak into her room and take it! Yes, I'm so clever! A few minutes after the door shuts, I tiptoe out of my room, for no reason, since I'm alone, and slowly open her door. I step inside, and close the door quietly.

I grin as I rummage through her drawers, her desk, her closet, everywhere, but I couldn't find my phone! Ugh, where could it be?

"What are you doing?"

"Ah!" I drop the clothes I was holding onto the floor. Wait, what is Carter doing here?

"Why are you here?" I say. Carter smiles.

"Your mom needed someone to look after you while she was at work, so she asked me." He says. "Now, what are you doing?"

"N-nothing.." I mutter. If he finds out I'm looking for my phone, he'll tell Mom, and my grounding will be extended!

"C'mon, tell me. I won't tell your mom." He says, a smile creeping onto his face. Ha, liar!

"Psh, sure," I snort. Carter rolls his eyes, leaning onto Mom's nightstand.

"Just tell me, you're making it harder."

That's the point. I purse my lips, trying to think of a good excuse. I notice the clothes on the floor, and suddenly, an idea pops into my head. But after I say it, I realise how stupid it sounded.

"Uhm, I just wanted to play dress up!" I blurt out. My eyes widen. No!

Carter smirks. "Oh, really? Well, why don't you dress-"

"Get out!"

"So, what do you wanna watch? Horror, Action, Fantasy..?"

Carter furrowed his eyebrows, thinking for a moment. "Hmm,"

"I don't have all day," I deadpan. Carter smirks, and continues to 'think'. After a few long minutes, he finally makes a decision.

"You decide."

"Ugghhh," I groan. "You could've said that earlier!"

Carter shrugs innocently. I narrow my eyes at him. The little devil. I pick a random movie off of the shelf. I show the cover to him. "Robocop?" I suggest. He agrees unenthusiastically, typing away on his phone.

I slip the DVD onto the player, and sit on the farthest couch away from Carter. He's too engrossed in his phone that he misses the beginning of the movie. He's just sitting down on my comfortable red couch, while I sit on the small chair away from him. I grumble. Of course he gets the nice seat, and he's not even paying attention to the movie!

Deciding to end my pain, I walk over to him and try to shove him off of the couch, without warning.

"Hey!"

I stretch my legs out onto the couch, smirking at my victory. Carter sighs, rolling his eyes.

"Whatever."

He sits at the edge of the couch, finally paying attention to the movie. Once it finishes, I'm extremely tired. I yawn, stretching my stiff limbs. I stumble off of the couch, and fall asleep.

I was awake to feel the pair of arms hoist me up into my room, though.
