~Camara~

I got majority of the notes but couldn't get the last of them that were written on the first board. He erased everything but I think I could manage with the amount I had. The bell rung and everyone rushed out the class. I was the last to leave. The teacher stepped out for a minute and when I gathered everything, here comes Adarius. My heart dropped immediately. I was so terrified by him now ever since that night.

"Camara.....I feel liked you lied to me"

"What makes you think that?" I asked while putting my bookbag ono my shoulder.

"Your body launguage."

"I did nothing but look you in the eyes and tell you the truth"

"Look....I don't want to hurt you but you will leave me no choice...."

"Adarius....why are you acting this way? Please tell me what's been going on with you"

"I can't tell you shit Camara...otherwise...nevermind." He looked at me almost afraid to even talk. He looked afraid deep down inside but on the outside he wanted to act tough. I felt bad for him, especially after the incident I saw yesterday night. Even though I wanted to tell him what I saw, I knew it wouldn't end well.

"Adarius, I'm here for you if you need somebody to talk to" He looked at me almost relieved that I even said that him. He pulled me into a small hug. His hug was warm and reassuring. I fell so hard for this guy and it seemed like he felt the same way about me. Yet, he acts like he doesn't even want me in that way.

"What I can tell you is....I really like you Camara." My eyes grew wide at the moment. I pulled away from him.

"Your not serious are you?"

"I believe I am"

"I thought you didn't like me that way. You know....the whole kiss at your place"

"I was just fronting...I don't know why but after you kissed me, I felt something" My heart began to pound pretty fast. This moment went from scary to romantic all in one. The bell rang once again and we had to get to class.

"I'll catch you later" He kissed my cheek and left the room. I stood there for a moment. I couldn't believe what just happened. The teacher soon came back into the classroom as well as some students.

"Ms.Lowe..what are you still doing here?"

"Oh sorry sir....I was just held back by something. I'll see you tomorrow" I said as I gathered my leftover books from my desk. He looked at me confused before shrugging his shoulders. I raced down to my next class which was American History. Tend of the day finally came. My mom was supposed to pick me up instead of me riding the bus but she called saying she had to work overtime. I let my bus pass right on by me five minutes before she called.

"Of course this happens" I said while shaking my head and beginning my walk home. Adarius came rolling by my side and I stopped.

"You want to come over again?"

"Is your ex still there? Nah....we were done after the last time you came over"

"That was fast..." I mumbled to myself before getting inside. I smiled at him and gave me a slight smile back. As he droe by the school, I once again saw a guy who looked almost like Dauntrel. He was standing by the same tree. I told Adarius to stop and he did. I quickly got out and walked towards where the tree was standing. As I got closer, he looked upset and hurt. But as I was closing in on him, he disappeared.

"Camara...what the hell are you looking for?"

"I thought I just..." I shook my head then turned back around. "It was nothing.."

"I think you need to lay down or something"

"Yeah, maybe I do"  I walked back to his car while checking behind me every once in awhile. These hallucinations of Dauntrel were really getting to me. I haven't thought about him as much as I do now.

"You sure you're ok?" He asked while putting the car back into drive. I nodded my head and gave him a small smile. My mind was playing crazy tricks on me right about now. I sighed and once more looked over at the tree. Nothing was there this time. I couldn't help but feel that Dauntrel was haunting me for some odd reason.

The drive to Adarius's apartment seemed longer than usual. We didn't really talk much rather than have the music play to keep it from being an awkward silence. I looked out the window the whole time while he faced the road. When we finally arrived, I got out quicker than he could finish parking the car.

He got out moments after I did and went over to where I was standing. He took my hand in his and led me upstairs to his place. He then got out the key from his back pocket and opened the door. I walked inside first when he gestured for me to go inside. Before I knew it, I was piushed to the ground.

"Adarius what the hell?" I looked up and saw about six other nigga's standing over me. I looked at Adarius who wouldn't even look at me. "What the fuck is going on?"

A guy who was sitting at a chair smirked at me. He got up and walked over to where I was on the floor. They took my bookbag and tossed it over to the side.

"So you're Camara....Adarius has been talking a lot about you..." He grinned then bent down to look me in the eyes.

"What do you want from me?"

"Nothing....just the truth."

"What the fuck are you talking about?"

"Were you or weren't you outside when you saw Adarius's initiation?"

My heart immediately dropped when he asked me that question. I could've swore nobody saw me running from the scene. I looked back more than once and there was no one behind me or following me. I looked at the guy and he was waiting for an answer. I shook my head.

"I don't know what you're talking about"

"You know damn well what I am talking about you bitch!" He slapped me so hard I could feel the stinging sensation he left.

"Niqqa are you out of your mind! I don't know what you're fucking talking about so just leave me the hell alone!" He got up and turned his back away from me.

"I'm going to ask you one more time....were you or weren't you outside when you saw Adarius's initiation"

"I was in my damn room!"

"You liar !" He yelled while turning back around. This time, he pulled out a gun. I was scared for my life right about now. I didn't know what to do.

"I'm not lying!"

"You got until the count of 3 and if you don't tell me the truth...I'm shooting you!"

I looked over at Adarius but he wouldn't even look me. I was beyond confused with the whole situation. He never meant any of things he said to me earlier. It was all a trick just to get me to confess about what I saw that night. I looked down at the ground and a tear drop fell onto the floor. I wanted Dauntrel to come back so bad right now but he was just memory haunting me with no purpose.
