The Mummy - O'Connell's love story

Chapter 11

Outside of Camp  - Night

Now everybody on high alert as they could hear a buzzing sound.

Sophie did not knew what it was but one thing she had very and it clearly was not good.

Jonathan woke up from his deep sleep and ran towards his sisters, looking in the direction where the sound was coming from.

"What is that!" asked Jonathan to the group.

"It looks like a dark cloud," reply Evelyn.

"Clouds don't make sounds Evie," Sophie said this time getting closer so she could see better what it was.

Now the cloud was really close and O'Connell saw thousand of Locusts. Before the Locusts surround them Rick took Sophie's hand and yell, "RUN!"

Everybody really scared started to run inside the temple, trying to find safety.

The three siblings where following O'Connell trying to find another way out without crossing paths with the Locusts. As they turned to the right the ground started to shake, the four of them looked as a small part of the sand started to arise and in matter of seconds thousand and thousand scarabs emerged off the ground.

"SCARABS!" yell Sophie making everyone react and start running to the other direction.

"RUN! GO GO GO!" screamed O'Connell.

They were running for their lives, with no direction they came onto a bridge. O'Connell, Jonathan, and Evelyn jumped into one side of the bridge as for Sophie jumped into the other side.

Everyone distracted watching the Scarabs passing by no one notices when Sophie scared had moved just a little and activated a hidden door and fell into the other side of it.

Once the nasty insect had gone away Rick turned around to check if Sophie was okay, surprised and worried to see that she wasn't there anymore.

"SOPHIE!" He yell in hopes that she would answer back but she didn't.

On the Other Side of the Trapdoor

As Sophie had fall into the other side of the door and landed not so gracefully. She started to Look around trying to find a way to get back with her siblings and O'Connell. She did not know why but her heart always skipped a beat when she thought of O'Connell.

After she got up not so far from her hears a muffle groan making her turned around and check what was going on. Once she turned saw one of the Americans Mr. Burns was standing there giving his back to her.

"Oh, Mr. Burns! for a minute a was starting to get scared, I lost everyone..." she started to say but once Burns turned around Sophie had back away from him, horrified at what she just saw.

"My eyes! My eyes!" said Burns, both of his eyes were pulled out and his tongue was also missing. Sophie now really scared out of her mind turned to get help but in her way was the not so dead mummy they had found on the sarcophagus.

With a loud scream Sophie backed away from the mummy as he was trying to get closer to her.

Now against the wall Sophie look back at Burns, who was on the floor trying to get away.

"Please help me," she said to Burns desperately and the mummy looked back when he saw that Sophie was talking to someone else.

"He took my tongue," said Burns still trying to get away.

"Please don't leave me!" said Sophie again pleading for him not to go but the mummy looked back at her. Sophie let out a small scream as he got closer.
