The Heroing Twins

Chapter 2: The Team

Robin visibly tensed, "Shit they followed me." A yellow blur then came to a stop in front of the bird.

"Dude Batman is so mad! Why did you come here? What is here? Why did you just run without telling anyone? W- mph," Robin covered the speedster's mouth.

"I'm fine. Just working on a personal project, I'll be back by the end of the week," Robin said in an attempt of getting the now approaching team to leave.

"You had us so worried Robin!" Miss Martian flew forward as she checked him over quickly.

"Ya we just got a call from Batman saying you disappeared when your tracker showed up here!" Artemis ranted.

"What is it you are doing here friend," Kladur finished. Robin sighed and thought of how he could explain.

"He's looking for our town's hero I believe," Danny cut in as he move beside his little brother, giving the boy confidence.

"*cough* yes I was but it seems I've stumbled on something interesting and considering the situation I was thinking of heading  back," Robin added any got a couple of skeptical looks.

"What did you find so interesting?" Superboy asked.

"My brother," Jazz deadpanned as Sam and Tucker awed at the new arrivals.

"And you may be?" Kaldur asked politely.

"This is Samantha Manson, Tucker Foley and my sister Jasmine Fenton. My name's Danny or Daniel Grayson or Fenton, take your pick," Danny introduced.

"Grayson?" Kid Flash asked with wide eyes

"I've asked Robin here to deliver a message to my brother Richard Grayson," Danny nodded in confirm. "But we should get going. It's late and we don't want to worry our parents. Night!" Danny then dragged his two friends away as Jazz followed.

"Richard Grayson doesn't have a brother," Wally said as he looked suspiciously at Dick.

"He has a twin actually. They got separated when their parents died and Daniel ended up moving here when adopted by the Fentons," Robin explained.

"Why isn't the media all over this?" Artemis asked.

"Richard kept it a secret for some reason but still asked me to look for him. I don't think Mr. Wayne even knows," Robin shrugged and Wally's eyes grew wider in shock.

"How about I go grab my equipment and meet you at the Bioship?" Robin suggested as he promptly disappeared onto the roofs.

Meanwhile...

"I'll be back in a couple of days to a week," Danny said as he packed some clothes and other things into a duffle. "Tell Maddie and Jack that I went to see Dick, I can take the punishment later," he continued as he hefted the bag to his shoulder.

"Punishment?" Sam asked incredulously.

"Mom and Dad don't like that has from a different family and banned any contact with his past of any kind. No accent, no languages, and definitely no brothers," Jazz explained as they all group hugged Danny. "Stay safe little brother."

"Ya man, stay safe and call us whenever," Tucker added.

"We'll miss you," Sam finished and they all separated.

"I'll miss you guys too. See you later!" Danny transformed and flew out in search of his brother.

"What are you waiting for Robin?" Aqualad asked as the rest of the team waited for him to get on the Bioship that was currently camouflaged on the roof he was standing at the edge of.

"In exchange for delivering the message for Daniel he agreed to call for their local hero to meet me," the bird said as he watched the skyline.

"Who is this hero if I may ask?"

There was cackling in the air. It was creepier than Robin's and the team that raced out of the ship couldn't find the source. "Ok you win at the creepiest cackle. Get your ass out here," Robin called out. Suddenly the small hero was tackled to the ground. The Team made defensive positions until a white haired boy appeared on Robin encasing him in a hug.

"Robin! I missed you so much. Never disappear like that again!" the figure mothered as they got up.

"Me? I'm not the one to completely drop off the map for 7 years doofus," Robin pointed out. As they got up.

"Rob who is this?" Wally asked.

"You my name is Phantom, I'm the hero of this city," Danny greeted.

"This is my team: Aqualad, Kid Flash, Superboy, Artemis, Miss Martian and Zatanna," Robin introduced back as he pointed to each teammate.

"Wow are you actually a Martian? Like from space?" Danny floated over to M'gann curiously.

"Actually I lived on Mars," she said with a blush.

"Cool!"

"As asterous as this all is, we should get back before Batman loses it," Robin said as he pulled his brother on to the ship and the others following suit.

"We're bringing him with us?" Artemis asked.

"I would hope so. Robin still has to tell him I exist," Phantom exclaimed as he sat in a chair.

"You're cold," the team turned to the Martian.

"Dead people usually are," Danny deadpanned.

The team stood shocked at the comment. Robin snickered.

"You're dead?" Artemis finally deadpanned.

A/N So I'm sitting with a bunch of kids while we watch the Jets vs the Golden Knights and they are all so bored already lol.

Fair warning that I haven't done my usual computer editing thing with Grammarly.
